I have seen a couple of videos about new FSX Play software being in the works. Has anyone heard anything about when they are expecting to release this? Looks like it would be a nice upgrade to fsx2020.

Just go to the support page at the bottom of the FSX Play page: Submit a request – Foresight Sports There is also a helpdesk though I have not tried that. I find I get a response back to the emails within a few days generally.Originally posted by pma99car View PostDoes anyone know where we report bugs? is it worth starting a dedicated thread for us to collect a list of all known issues?
That said, I do think a dedicated thread tracking issues folks have submitted would be a good idea.

FSX Play 3 Day Review
I've only had the new FSX Play SW for 3 days
My interpretation of the FSX Play SW description was that it was an upgrade to the entire FSX 2020 operation system (wrong -my bad)
Like many of you, I researched and made a significant investment in the GCquad HW platform based on a number of factors, for me the ball and club data analytics were a key reason for selecting a Foursight product over other platforms (Trackman, etc)
Following are just a few comments and my insights on some of the major components that I've tested
Pros of FSX Play
Improved graphics for courses currently available
Logical and more efficient layout of menu items
Geared toward playing courses and games, not skill improvement
Improved GUI (Graphical User Interface experience)
Cons of FSX Play
FSX 2020 has 24 club and ball data analytics, FSX Play only has 14 (No Swing Path or Face to Path metric, etc etc)
FSX 2020 had the ability to show 16 different data metrics in two columns, FSX Play only has 8 (bottom of the screen)
FSX 2020 has a graphical representation of club and ball data, FSX Play does not.
FSX has the ability to increase and decrease screen data of each shot, not available w/ FSX Play
Maybe (hopefully) some of this may be user error, as I will continue to work through the features and functionality of FSX Play, but as you can tell my friends and I use the system for practice and swing improvement, the absence of leveraging the FSX Hardware platform (GCQuad) ball and club data is a big disappointment.
Paid $500 for the upgrade but I'm already back to using the FSX2020 platform
Still a fan of Foursight, but wish I would have known this was geared toward playing courses and not an upgrade to the entire FSX 2020 operating system

Thanks for sharing this viewpoint. I've been torn on whether to upgrade or stay on FSX2020. Based on this feedback, I'll stick with what I have (FSX2020). The graphics haven't bothered me much and I have TGC2019 if I want to get better graphics.

This is a great breakdown. I’m a GC3 user so some of these metrics don’t apply but when I play I really like to see peak height and descent angle to make sure I’m hitting my windows. Maybe they could add a second column of tiles to the left arranged vertically or better yet have some flexibility to put the tiles, the size and amount where you want on the screen. I really enjoy the graphical difference for playing and will continue to play most of my sim golf in FSX Play while doing swing work in 2020 or Pro.

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering Play was mostly improved courses or if the Improve portion was a big upgrade too. I mainly (99%) use FSX for the Improve portion and do most of my sim golf with TGC 2019. I'll stick with FSX for now.

Same situation here. I few have reported that Foresight intends to gradually roll-out the features of FSX Play. I guess they felt the need to get 'something' out there and hopefully they are making use of all the feedback from us 'beta-testers'. I am optimistic but I agree that the current focus seems to be on the gaming aspects and not the strengths of the Foresight gear which generally brought us to this HW equipment in the first place. Hopefully they will hoist this on-board. I can see a future where I use FSX2020 for the range and FSX Play for playing courses but I hope they ultimately get to a best of both worlds situation.Originally posted by Drobert1961 View PostLike many of you, I researched and made a significant investment in the GCquad HW platform based on a number of factors, for me the ball and club data analytics were a key reason for selecting a Foursight product over other platforms (Trackman, etc)

FSX Pro for fitting
FSX2020 for sim but more true sim with metrics
FSX Play for straight up video game arcade golf?
I’m super confused at the direction we are heading.
i spent 20k+ to get a complete sim experience with unparalleled club data. I want to this to feel like a simulation of golf. Seeing the ball on the screen at address doesn’t seem like a simulation experience when i look doentand see a ball at my feet. 2 balls?? Why

How do I activate La Jolla pines on fsx play. I have it already activated on fsx2020 but can’t seem to get it on this one…

I wish I could remember for sure but I think it was ready to go in Play once I had activated first in 2020. I may have had to put the code in Play as well. Paris didn’t work for me I just opened a ticket on their web chat and they fixed it right away. Might be the way to go if the code isn’t working in Play.

I have a GC2 HMT set up. If I get FSXPlay, can I see club and ball info on the GC2 or is it blanked out same as FSX2020

On the fence with upgrading. I have FSX 2020 and use it with GC2/HMT and like the camera integration and club data playback.
There seems to be no clear roadmap coming from Foresight as to what FSX Play features will be built and when.
I don't see a good reason to "upgrade" at the moment. I might have a different view if I knew exactly what was coming and approx when.

I am also going to watch this space. Lucky me I did not immediately jump on the first offer and it was sold out when I tried to buy.
The new course graphics do look nice. But I'm hearing lots of people complaining about stuff that I would not like either (ball pictured on screen, permanent and limited data tiles at bottom of screen). Still no online play. And do I seriously have to be on the range in Paris at all times?
Plus, I probably need to upgrade my pc for Play. So it's a $2500+ investment for something that I may not like as much as what I have right now. I'm going to give this some time.

Anyone with time or is bored want to test the ram usage between presets?
Just wondering how much it goes up per preset.

I got sent an activation code for FSX Play and another for La Jolla.Originally posted by Andyman33 View PostHow do I activate La Jolla pines on fsx play. I have it already activated on fsx2020 but can’t seem to get it on this one…
Once you’ve installed FSX Play, there should be an activation box at the top of the courses page.

I too already had La Jolla - once FSX Play was up and running the courses I already owned (the free ones plus a few others) were already activated. May be worth a call if you are seeing something different.
