I have an older unit currently running 4.0.0.15. There is no difference in ball flight/distance calculations from all the other 3.x firmware I have ever had on my on my GC2
With respect to ball dimples being different on modern balls, this is a non starter. Ball dimple designs have been about the same forever despite what the ball manufacturers sales material says. As far as I know a GC2 uses ball dimples for spin measurements only. The measurement of launch angle, ball speed and azimuth do not require dimple analysis.
I'd suggest those having a problem first reload the latest firmware from the download site provided by Foresight which is where I got my latest version. You can also go to any of the free ball ballistics programs like Trajectoware, Flightscope etc and plug in your ball speed, launch angle and spin number and compare their distance calculations with the GC2. They won't be exactly the same but as they say, close enough for government work.
