Well, one of the big players is jumping into the consumer market for launch monitors. According to the webpage, Full Swing is releasing the “Kit” for $4k, and the reported metrics looks to include club pash and face angle at impact. The product page is light on details, but this looks to be the kind of product that could really disrupt Foresight’s hold on the midrange market.

It would certainly be in their best interest to release some more clear and concrete information instead of just a bunch of marketing language. They're leaving a lot of people very confused. If it can't be used indoors and can't be used to play sim golf then what the heck is the point?

I also jumped on this new LM with the main use being indoors. Shame if that is not the case since it was pretty clearly stated that it was for home indoor use as well as outdoor. Building my sim room currently, so will go Mevo+ if this is in fact correct!
And what is the fun in "Game play" on simulated courses if you are standing on the driving range.... Makes no sense to state that if its only outdoor. If its true then it sounds like they have pulled the plug on indoor use, since its performance is just too poorly.Last edited by Skarpo; 01-26-2021, 01:56 PM.

Yes says Indoor and Game play. Thats simulation golf. I have written to my contact at Full swing to hear more about this, but guess they will anyway come with more info later today.

It will come later today at 2 PM PST Full Swing have written back to me. It will work indoor my contact confirmed, but it sounds like that you will need to pay for such feature. So the classic SW upgrade options to get additional features and to have it to work indoor - just likeTrackMan does it. Out of the box features should be super solid for a 4k price point for me to choose this compared to what Mevo+ offers....

Just looking at their filed patent it does directly measure club path, but face angle is calculated by club path and launch direction, both directly measured. Interesting though it states it doesn’t use predetermined functions for calculations but deep neural learning processes

Very interesting to hear more about that. Path is the most important feature for me personally, but would have been great if both were measured. Will be great to get the facts on the table, but I dont expect all details to come today. It sounded from my contact that they are still working on features and price points. You are not happy with your Mevo+ since you want to go with this Noob20?

My question is twofold... How does Trackman measure Face-Angle? There are no fiducials on the club and the unit can only see what passes in front of the unit, so it sees path, launch angle, direction, spin, and speed. It can't see the front of the club face for a driver or a wood and those are bulged... So it must ultimately be some form of a calculation...
Similarly, how would a radar unit be able to do this in general without some form of a supplemental overhead or side view camera? I wouldnt expect Kit to do it either. Obviously, if I'm wrong in my estimation, please, someone explain it to me.
I feel like to get true angle you need an overhead camera like a GC product or Uneekor.

It doesn't measure face angle. Calculating face angle by using path/launch angle is pretty accurate for center strikes. That's why it needs light for the cameras to detect impact location. Then is uses impact location to cover heel/toe misses and correct spin-axis/face-to-path measurements.
You need cameras to measure face-angle and probably spin-axis too.

I think its been one of those things that I've consistently been battling as a preconception regarding TM being the gold standard in Ball flight tracking/modeling. I think the recent video that was posted of outdoor performance vs GCQ was actually a good example of how actually measuring face angle produces more accurate results...There was a shot that TM said it produced a large draw vs GCQ which was bang on accurate, and I'd bet my shirt that has something to do with a strike that was not on center... It only happened on the driver, so this would stand to reason that technically, a camera based system like GCQ or Uneekor, would likely do better in this type of test.
I think TM is much better for accurate tracking of ball flight carry numbers though. Its really an interesting area to look at, once you start delving deeper and deeper into the tech.

I may be wrong, but I recall from Mevo+ readings, that the radar is able to reach around (no pun intended) or wrap around the clubhead. That's the extent of my recall, and tech knowledge.Originally posted by SkeetShooter View PostMy question is twofold... How does Trackman measure Face-Angle? Here is the final article that I will post that I hope will help in answering the questions above in respect of face angle and also highlight some differences that can result when comparing what a camera based system measures compared to what TM measures in respect of certain data parameters.

This message board in general seems to quite popular no matter what the brand of launch monitor/simulator. It would really be nice if the various companies would take the time to drop in here from time to time and answer questions or address issues that arise. It would be real helpful if full swing would show up here and share some information and cleared up a few things.

I would settle for them just putting out press releases or making announcements when they said they would! although, i am now seeing it on their website. no additional info and they mention it as an outdoor launch monitor on the front page. The indoor/outdoor and "play" references are still on the preorder pageOriginally posted by Shankz View Post... Yep the hyperbole is almost as bad as the national political scene. Whatever happened to honesty is the best policy. I have basically lost confidence in Full swing. There hype and total silence since appears to be typical marketing BS. Going back to Uneekor
