Well, one of the big players is jumping into the consumer market for launch monitors. According to the webpage, Full Swing is releasing the “Kit” for $4k, and the reported metrics looks to include club pash and face angle at impact. The product page is light on details, but this looks to be the kind of product that could really disrupt Foresight’s hold on the midrange market.

Par2Pro just put out a video on Full Swing. I have not watched it yet, but did a quick scan through and did not seem to get any info on the new monitor. Maybe someone has a bit more time to see if they do actually speak of this new product.

Apologies if someone already posted this - I didn't see it on the thread and thought it might be of interest: this is the press release that came out today. It seems to have a bit more info (though not a lot - it does say they expect the first batch, all preordered, is sold out and they anticipate a 2nd run later in the summer)

Still so many questions and missed opportunities. Don’t understand how the show could fly by and we don’t see any video or demo of this thing. No video or interviews at all. If the plan was to release a generic press release with little new details and more so ride the wave of tigers name , I’m skeptical to say the least. The buzz for this was super high and I don’t understand how you could fall this flat. I used to do marketing and PR for product launches at trade shows and this type of activity always came from the worst and most disorganized companies. Just throw at a press release and tease more info in the next few months. The sales team telling ppl it wasn’t indoor too is inexcusable to me. What does it say about how the support might be after purchase? Not good. I do however appreciate Ryan responding to posts directly. Even if he was vague

a98cr125 I saw you posted some of the vendor videos on your youtube, I imagine the only way you had access to do that was through an industry pass. Understand if you are not allowed to comment on what you saw because of some sort of media/industry blackout, but can you perhaps confirm or deny that you have seen or been provided with any update regarding Full Swing Kit?

Thanks Jay. I posted this after watching Cory's video, but your feedback echo's my sentiment about the company's blunder here. I can only hope they are hoping to integrate some of their newly designed simulator software with on-course play into the KIT, so that when they eventually do release it, they will have a nice surprise to offer consumers. Think of it as Mevo+ with their free 6 course on E6, except Full Swing gives you 6 courses that have been created and designed in their own software, included as part of the purchase of KIT.

I suspect indoors this will be nothing more than a Mevo+ with club path unlocked. Reading through their patent application they speak to it’s unique ability to measure flight throughout the entire ball flight with a 24 ghz FMCW radar transmitter. It would still use a 24 ghz CW radar transmitter for all other measurements just like the Mevo+. Outdoors it maybe more accurate with carry distance and offline, but that’s not really anything people find inaccurate or annoying with the Mevo+ outdoors.
I don’t think Flightscope has anything to worry about with this product. At the show they said they have no plans to unlock any club data features right now, but at the end of the day they could easily unlock club data for a charge and still be well under price and probably just as accurate indoors. I’m interested to see how much a completely unlocked premium tier Full Swing unit will actually cost and what comes standard on the base 3999 unit.

It seems like the biggest weakness of the Mevo+ indoors is the short chipping and putting issues (which can be a challenge for any radar unit). The thing I would be most interested in seeing with the Kit is how well it does in that area. I'd be awfully hesitant to drop 4k if it can't read a 6 foot chip during sim play.Originally posted by Aj282 View PostI suspect indoors this will be nothing more than a Mevo+ with club path unlocked. One of the screenshots said it needed 9 feet from unit to ball. That's more than Mevo+, space requirements might make this even less friendly to indoor environments

I find this interesting. Regarding the Mevo+, many users are having better results closer to the unit than recommended, both in terms of reads and accuracy. I'm wondering if the same will be true for this unit. More importantly, I'm wondering if the manufacturers will incorporate that "real world" data into their recommendations.

Ryan has been more active today. If you want to stay up to date join the Golf Simulator and Emerging technologies group.
to follow up, Ryan said that it will need between 7-9 feet behind ball and 9 feet in front for indoor. He has repeated several times it is for indoor and outdoor use. He said that with it being the West Coast swing, the next 3 weeks they are doing Tour player testing. Harry Brandt will be receiving a unit within the next month to test. He says this product is from years of testing and not overnight.
I totally agree, they suck at marketing and customer service, if this unit does what it says, it could be a game changer. I’m not going to be pessimistic like some people on here. I am optimistic this will work. If we don’t have hope, what do we have!

The people who follow the PGA show is quite small compared to the general population. They already sold out of their original allotment so not sure what they need to market at this time. It's not even out yet. Any marketing done at this point is going to be wasted until they have produce available to ship.
They have Tiger Woods. They don't need anything else. Once the product is available, with Tiger Woods saying he requested they developed this for him, it's a wrap.

Remind me to never go into business with you! Marketing is never wasted if done strategically. It is called building a buzz which they did well up until the show. Think full swing will be wise not to just rest on the laurels of tiger driving sales. Especially because this is less of an average consumer product and more for the affluent market. Sure, Tiger will contribute to sales but there is a lot more they can do with this to gain market share if it is a good product.

You don't have to worry about that. I love ships. I love white ships, black ships, blue ships, yellow ships. Large ships, small ships. I love all ships. Except partnerships.
Plus I'm an attorney with my own firm, couldn't happen unless you were a licensed attorney in my state. And if so, see above.
They sold out their initial without even a product. Why hype it up now because they won't have more units for how long? Then we'll hear the same forum complaints about a product that was promised but they can't deliver any units etc. Just like Mevo+ last year and they're doing just fine.
A $4k product that does all they promise, will sell like hotcakes.
