  • Loop the Loop!

Held off posting about this but it's now happened three times.

Has to do with the ball doing a "loop the loop" during ball flight. It happened to me twice previous, both times on the same course. I thought it might have been related to the course, but today I was playing a different course and it happened again.

You already know something fishy is going on when you watch the ball flight on the screen. The ball literally starts coming back from where it was hit, and then loops back to the correct direction.

First two times I had the analysis window active after each shot. The ball flight was shown as "looping" in the analysis window. I didn't think of saving the screen image.

Today, no analysis window, but sure enough, a well struck 3 wood had the yardage counter (bottom right corner) count up to 87 and then start counting backwards, then start counting back up again. Total distance for the shot 120 yards!

Anybody else have this happen to them?

We have seen it happen once or twice. This is not TGC related. It happens in ProTee Golf as well.

It will happen when do not match, like a 60 degrees launch angle on a 150+mph ball speed and extreme back spin are send to the physics engine. The flight path will max out and the ball will loop.

Try to get a screen shot of the analysis screen. If you have switched off the in game analysis, you can open the ProTee Golf Interface when it happens and take a screenshot of the main screen with all the values.

It has happened to me many times. I had one shot by one of my buddies he was using a LW from 25 yards. the ball did several loops in the air. and then curved to the right on the way down from the last loop and landed in the middle of the fairway 243 yards away from the hole. It mainly happens to me when I am using my Adams A-12os 6 hybrid. but my buddy has a ping hybrid and it will do it to him once in a while. I have noticed it much more since the last interface update than in the past. But in total it has happened to me over a dozen times and to my buddy at least 5-6 times. The LW shot was the first time with any other club than a hybrid that this phenomenon has happened. I have read another post not that long ago that it happened to another user when he used his 6 iron also. I have no recollection if he mentioned what brand of club or the type but I do remember it was a 6 iron.

Send a screenshot of the ProTee Golf interface main screen to support (a) protee-united.com when it happens, so we can have a look at the data.

Usually this happens when the V-Cam picks up the club or something else to calculate the launch angle instead of the ball streak.

I've posted a video of my shot on Youtube.

              Did you save a screenshot?

Nada! I'd already exited the interface. Made my video because TGC saves the game and allowed me to replay the shot the next day.
