Please Help - Answer One Question (Important)

I need to get everyone's honest answer for a manufacturer to be named later.

Do you take your launch monitor/system to the range?

    Never, Rarely, All the time

(The point of the question is to determine how important is having battery power or is your system always plugged in....)

    Thanks,

    Gene

I got a gc2/HMT and often brought it to the range to get feedback on my swing from the club head data. However, I never brought my Skytrak to the range in prior years, because it didnt have club data.

A cheap and small battery backup UPS works fine if one doesn't have a battery.

Never. I can see where the ball is going. The ball speed, spin numbers etc. are kind of irrelevant since you are using range balls of varying condition ball to ball. The other problem is you have to keep moving the launch monitor when hitting irons and possibly fairway woods if it is a camera system since you will be stripping the turf (divots) from your hitting spot. If you have something like a Foresight Quad the capture area is larger but you will still run out of turf.

Rarely..... However, battery power is important to me since I use it in my garage and I don't need a cord to trip over.

I recently got my gc2 and realistically will rarely use it on the range. However in playing lefty-righty in-home having a battery & BT is very important so to not have to drag a power cord all over the place.

I do take it to the range quite a bit. I feel like most people have a slightly different indoor vs. outdoor swing and there are subtle differences that give subtly different data. If youre a datahead you'll want to at least have the option to take it to the range.
