  • 1st simulator build done! Thanks to everyone here!

This is my 1st post here, but I have been lurking for months taking in all of the information that is on this site. My build turned out way better than I imagined, and that is all thanks to guys!

Looks great, nice job. What are you using the slider for attached to the skytrak? It doesn't look like your using it for a different surface to hit or putt from. Just to minimize wear on the mat? Also, what is the name of the white putting target? I've seen it before but can't remember the name.

I bought the slider to move the skytrak laser up in my stance for woods and back for irons and wedges. The cup is a starball cup from starprogreens. I bought those so I could put my turf directly on the concrete floor.

Very nice looking. I want to build one like it when my new house is done. Please give us details. Is that a Carl’s enclosure kit? Enclosure and screen size? Projector model? Thanks

Thanks! I followed the DIY instructions posted by GungHoGolf in this thread https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...re-with-screen
The enclosure is 9 1/2' x 17'. The screen was a 10'x20' imperfect raw sq from par2pro, but the actual viewing size is 9' x 16'.
The projector is a slightly used Benq MP780st I got off of ebay.

Great Looking Build! I wish I had used a slider when I had my Skytrak Active. Would have saved me from having to buy a new gel pad....

Looks great! Where did you mount your projector? My build is up but the projector is giving me issues.

The projector is mounted above the back of my hitting mat. About 2 feet dirctly behind the ball.

Alright thanks. Ya I have to offset my ball to the right. so my projector needs to be mounted right behind me but its in my swing path. Im sure ill figure it out

It looks like you have the green flooring and then a mat sitting on top of that. Please give the details of this. I am thinking about making some adjustments to mine but I am concerned about having too much cushion. This messed me up long ago, when my stance settled too much. Then IRL I started hitting it thin all the time.

            Thanks in advance! Looks awesome!

I didn't notice extra cushion from putting the hitting mat on too of the turf. Although, the hitting mat already had more cushion than I expected. I haven't played real golf since I finished the simulator. Hopefully I won't have any issues transitioning between the two, I hadn't really thought of that.

Very nice! Have you had any issues with a toe shot flying off and missing the edge of the enclosure? I have a similar setup and put some retractable curtains up I could pull out when we are using it.

I've hit a couple of shanks, but haven't had any that far offline yet. I have plywood walls in this building, so it shouldn't do too much damage if it did happen.

Slider / Dolly - How did you attach your ST to the slider? Thanks.

I have since upgraded to QED, but as a remember there was a single threaded hole like you would attach a camera to a tripod. I had to change the bold in the slider to match the threads if I remember right.

The slider didn't last very long, I couldn't get it low enough to the ground which caused misreads.

Setup looks great! It looks like you have a spotlight in the ceiling in front of the projector. If that is how you have it set up do you notice any image degradation with the spotlight shining through the projector light? I was considering trying to do something similar to that.

My spotlight is mounted right next to the projector. I have never run the projector without it, so I don't know how much degridation it causes.
