  • My build: 7ft 11 Wide X 8 ft 4 tall

Almost ready to take the dive with TGC 2019. Still need to add netting on the walls/ceiling and finish the floor.

6mm steel cables for net and screen frames.

14 inches between screen and back wall.

3inches between screen and tensioned golf net behind.

king size duvet hanging between screen and net behind.

Can use all clubs, no balls have hit back wall.

BenQ mx842ust (nice and cheap). Have an image around 2m tall X 2.6m so slightly wider than needed but beams prevent moving it a little closer.

screen attached with a combination of zip ties, bungee cord and tarp clips. Not attached at bottom as per tips on the forum.
Net attached using just zip ties.

picture was taken when bottom right screen was not secured as zip ties kept being broken so replaced with a short piece of bungee cord.

The ball only bounces a foot or two back, which is much better than I had imagined.

Tomahawk neo golf tees just arrived today so shall try them out later!

All of the tips from other builds on here helped a lot, I found myself with many options and changed my mind countless times, with this as the end result.

    How I manage in such a small space... I'm 5ft 7 .

I would be terrified of a ball shanking off into the brick and bouncing around like a Pinball machine....but hey, a man has to do what a man has to do....so I say....Congrats!!!!!!

Yeah I have netting to hang loosely on the sides just have to wait for the Mrs to move her bits out. The brickwork that sticks out, I plan on putting some form of padding there.

I've already added padding on the left wall where I may hit with the club on a follow through.

I think the main thing is getting comfortable with your space, anything shorter than a 3 wood i've definitely gotten over the nerves of hitting a wall/the ceiling which is good.

As you say, had to make do with what I've got. Standard sized single garage in the UK for me sadly!

Would suggest lining those cinder blocks with acoustic tile or memory foam. 107 mph ball speed is definitely enough to cause injury on a shank. Credit to you for getting started though!

For now I've put some of the padding I've used on the floor and wall behind me Infront of that edge sticking out, just ordered some acoustic foam as you suggested though. I do fear for the Skytrak as a shank would head in its direction.

I'd be really interested in seeing any other pics/design and rough idea of costs. I am looking to convert our garage, which is also narrow in width. Any help would be really appreciated.

                Thanks
