  • What's the Most Affordable TGC setup?

I'm speaking of hardware only. SkyTrak?

If someone could lay out the expected costs for me, that'd be really helpful.

There are costs out there. Look at the thread for bama golf sim. He has all his costs layed out.

I would imagine protee and skytrak are the cheapest setups with protee having more setup involved.

Hardware only and it's a slam dunk - get the PC version of the game!

But seriously, like Joko points out there's lots of info out there. But you really aren't providing enough info for people to comment.

You shouldn't really be thinking of it as a "hardware only" question. It also matters what else you have planned in terms of where you are planning on using this "hardware" and TGC.

Are you planning a permanent install, with a dedicated space? Or are you thinking of a temporary set-up that you can take down because you don't have the space?

If you have a dedicated space then I'd recommend ProTee. There is no shot delay. You get clubhead data and the integration with TGC is rock solid. While there is set-up involved in getting the system up and running, once it's set, it's set.

I have a ProTee system in a dedicated golf sim room. Because it's Summer I haven't used my sim in over a month. Used it today. Turn on the computer, turn on the projector, power up the ProTee, start the software and you're golfing.

Remember that part of your costs will be related to your physical space, but that is a bit related to what you're planning to build.

      Good luck!

Yeah I would add if you want club head data protee is a quality affordable option. As a newbie golfer that uses skytrak I long for club head data.

As aja pointed out if you have a perm spot then protee can be affordable. I believe they have a 2k option.

With that said I do love my skytrak, especially now that most of the issues have been resolved. If only they offered a club tracking addon then I would be over the moon.

I think skytrak is the most affordable you can go - and it works well too. ProTee I looked at it seemed the cost of the hardware only golf ball tracking would be 4000 to 6000. Skytrak is around 2000. However, golf SIMS are not cheap. They are cheap compared to years ago where it would cost you 50,000 but I would think you are looking at 5000 easy and 10,000 for a good setup.

To date I spent about 7,000 - skytrak, pro-return net, mat, computer, ipad, monitor, software. I am looking to spend about 6,000 to 8,000 more next month for an enclosure, screen and projector. Will move the NET outside on deck for those really nice fall and spring morning.

      Hope this helps.

You need to look again then. Protee hardware is around $2k. Get it with TGC for about $3k.
