Well I'm just going to sit here and stay at the screen for awhile, and enjoy my very brief stay at the top of the leaderboard again this week. AHHHHHHHHHH . . . that was fun :-).

Had a GREAT round going through about 14 holes I believe then disaster. Had two more 6 irons that were just absolutely hit nicely that rolled all the way across the greens. One of them even hit OFF the green and rolled across. I was 174 out and had 27 feet down to the green, which I would think would add even MORE stopping power to a shot. Just absolutely flushed a six iron and thought I was going to be within gimmie distance for a bird but ended up if not mistaken 190ish after again hitting short of the green and rolling all the way across. Had a similar distance in the 170s and caught another 6 really well and ended up 184 I think and I looked at the spin and it was 5300ish if memory serves me correctly, which is not horrible for a 6 iron. That is so very frustrating.

MainStGolf, I agree that the greens on some of these courses are ridiculously frustrating, even with the settings turned all the way down. At least we are all on a mostly level playing field.

I'm like wbond, I'd like to know if other people are having the same issues because we may not be on the same level playing field if other monitors are holding those shots. I've said that about my 3 hybrid, which I have to hit a lot on these longer course into the green and can't hold that thing for nothing either unless it lands WELL short of a green, but most of the time you can't really do that because of bunker issues.

bond I didn't pay attention to my launch angle, but I can tell you I hit it EXTREMELY high because I'm generally a flipper :-(. Have tried really hard to fix that, and just can't shake it.

With at least 4 different types of hardware available and limitations with each (except possibly GC2) and the possibility to change settings, no way it's a the same playing field. Which is why I don't understand people getting so bent out of shape on these leaderboards. Either than playing the same course, you just aren't playing with the same parameters.

Rather than say....... I want to be on a level playing field, you may want to rephrase that .....to .... I would like my sim game to represent my real life game. I think that's the goal of 99% of the people here. There has never been a GSA user ask me..... how can I adjust my systems so the ball goes straight? They always ask.....how can I make the ball flight resemble RL. The big 4 systems all have boost. ProTee and GSA have forgiveness settings which shouldn't be used. The launch monitors rounds off their direction to the nearest degree which can help you or hurt you at the same time.

Exactly, which is why i've said you should only be thinking in comparison to yourself. I've found if i play well, I'm further up the leaderboard, if not I'm no where to be found and I collect my 20 thank you points and try again next week. Worrying about other peoples scores, "ain't nobody got time for that"

You'd need to specify your hardware, but ST has a text file in the settings on your TGC for ST interface. Not inside the game! If you plan to play the tourney, you'll need to turn on shot recording here as well.

how do you change the stimp firmness and speed?

In my text file (settings) on the TGC interface I only have 2 options (green stimp set at 7 and green firmness set at 1 I believe). I don't have the third option. How do I activate that third option? is there a patch?

Yes, that patch made a big difference..... bump and runs... run and high LA shots stick like IRL. That patch was well worth it. The previous tournament post has some discussion on the 3 settings.

I ran that patch this afternoon. It definitely seemed to help. Thanks to the guys that brought that up. I also turned my shot correction to OFF (ST) and that seemed to make short chips more realistic.

I did have an issue with one down hill 5 yard chip not reading. Then, I put a little hit behind it and got it to read. It flew too far, but checked up and it stopped 7 feet past the hole with 2000+ spin! So, I'm gonna go that route for awhile and see how it works.

MainStGolf - run that patch mentioned above if you haven't already. I think you'll like it. Set firmness at 1. I hit a 4 iron this afternoon, a cut around some of those overhanging trees, landed at 182 and stopped pin high at 193. Didn't check spin, but most likely a little higher than 4000 with the cut swing. The firmness set at 1, stimp at 7, and speed set at 3 seemed much more realistic to me. Also I set short game correction to OFF and that seemed to make the short chips spin better. You'll have to go ahead and hit a short chip to get it read though, but it did seem to spin better. Maybe some hope for the ST guys?

As a guy that has never hit a lot of greens, but relied heavily on short game, I need this to be good for me to enjoy.

You can play whenever you want as long as you finish by the deadline.

Exit the round properly (hit escape, click exit and navigate back to the main menu to exit TGC). Next time you start TGC and select the tournament to play it will bring you to where you left off.

Well after a rough first round, tough course and I couldn't make a putt, I attempted to stop playing and save my second round for tomorrow.
anyway I went to hit "exit round" and i accidentally hit "concede hole". This is the second time I've done this in a tournament. I realize I should be more careful but something really needs to be done about this.
Why is concede hole even an option?
And since it us an option, why doesn't it ask you to confirm, that you'd like to concede the hole?
lucky me I now get to start my second round +7 on the 2nd hole.
Can this situation be fixed? I've seen others complain about the same issue

I downloaded that patch, ran the exe to install it, acted like it was successful but no difference . No green speed option and still version 3.0.0. Of course I restarted and all that so don't know what the deal is with that.

The patch gives you more adjustments for the green.... stimp, firmness, speed. Contact ProTee if you don't see all 3 adjustments. Mine shows 3.0.0 and I have all 3.
