Does the tour handicap update every week?

If it updates every Tuesday, then if I start the next tourney on Monday (like I just did today) my handicap wouldn't have updated... so does it update automatically later in the week and get applied to the current tournament?

It is my home course so to speak as I live in Houston. Pretty good recreation. IRL where all the bushes are is hazard and you most likely will never find yor ball.

That is one thing I like about TCG. No more walking back and forth for 15 min wondering where my ball went and waking up the next day with itchy rashes on my leg chasing a $1 golf ball.

ProTee United I would love to see what device/hardware other tour players are using in these tournaments any chance we can see that in the future?

Holy Monkey bananas. Everything was working for me today, which was odd because nothing worked for me the last time I played. I've decided to keep the driver in the back and use 3 wood, which has worked out well. I have even been hitting my 3w farther than my driver in many cases, and it doesn't end up sliced into the trees.

Today I hit a lot of excellent shots, and when I did hit a bad shot, my recovery shot more than made up for it. Hopefully I can keep this going when I play the second round.

First round average for me. Second round 4 pars in a row then double, etc. stopped at 10. I was going downhill and had used today to hit a lot of balls and practice.

Lost my driver swing today. I'm going to have to work on that more, not excited about that.

Is your tour handicap different than your regular handicap playing a normal round?

Yes, it can be quite a bit different. For a regular round on TGC I'm believe i'm currently a 17.5...tour handicap is now 9.6

Having mixed feelings on the putting patch after this round. There was an 18 footer and a 12 footer that I made that were probably assisted to the patch. That said I still 3 putted 2 or 3 times but more to having a really long putt and having poor pace. During my practice rounds and last tourney I felt the patch didn't artificially lower my score. Over next few tourneys I might play 1 round with it on and 1 round with it off to see how things go.
              My courses:
              Aldeen
              Butler National
              Cantigny
              Canyata
              Cog Hill #4
              Harbor Shores
              Harborside
              Naperville Country Club
              Prairie Landing
              Rich Harvest Farms

I understand your concern, I suggest you lower the gimmie to 3' and give that a whirl. I feel that balances out any artificial gain from the patch for me. Good Luck!

Some low scores starting to be put up on this course. I had it at even par until the 18th and hit my approach shot in the drink. First iron shot I had pulled that bad all round. So ticked. Finished with a bogey. Really enjoy this golf course! As far as the patch goes, it definitely has helped the short putts. Everything else you still have to get the break right and the speed correct, so I don't feel like there is a huge competitive advantage, especially since others can use it as well. I've burned the edges of several holes without the ball getting sucked in like I saw in the last tournament. I think with this patch we could seriously look at moving the gimme range to 4 feet instead of 6.

Why is that my tour handicap is showing up in my profile but not on the leaderboard. I know I haven't played in this week's event yet, but after reading messages it should've updated last weeks and it never did. Just wondering why it's not working and if I should wait to play this week's rounds? Thanks!

It will not update your last weeks scores. Your handicap will be used for this weeks scores. Play this weeks rounds and it will use your new handicap.

Nice course. Disappointing first round followed by a decent second round. I had trouble putting and a rare triple bogey for me...... hitting into the water will do that.

I really like this course. Very playable and I expect some good scores this week. Nice 64 Duke! I'd like to say I'll be putting my own good scores up, but I can't promise anything with my shaky game. I'm still loving the 0 HA as a ST user. I finally got my gimme set to 3 feet and have played one practice round with it on. Based on that limited time, I do like it better but haven't had enough break yet to say I'm going to miss any putts from that distance. I missed a 7 footer during that round though with 0 HA and perfect speed! Flat out didn't play enough break.

Thanks Gary. I think a good compromise with the 0H might be to set it at a max of 1 HA, rather than the three it was. That or set the gimmie range to 3 feet as previously suggested. I hit the ball pretty good, probably would have shot 68 - 70 IRL. Would love to see a recreation of this course at the real distances. Watching it on TV today and looks like a much better test for those guys.

Real distances and the winds that we get in Texas this time of year give plenty of bite. I played a course at 7000 yards Wednesday and the wind blowing pretty steady, made some of the long par 4's pretty tough.

They don't have wind in that part of Texas unless its a hurricane :-). We spent nearly 10 years in Humble. Never once went to the Shell Houston Open or the senior event they had in The Woodlands a time or two. :-(
