The course is terrible this week. I made it through 9 holes or so. One hole has a tree overhanging the teebox! Lovely. Greens are tiny.

I was going to quit just based on the awfulness of the course, but then skytrak started acting up and hastended my departure. I had lob wedges going either 0 yards (with a negative launch angle), or 220 yards.

Not a good week for me. No desire to try to finish this tournament.

Will hopefully be back next week.

Agreed on the course this week, it's a bad one. Got through the round but hated every minute.

I wasn't too pissed off for my first round, even with a triple thrown in. Looks like the creator did a pretty awesome job when comparing it with the IRL yardage book and flyovers - https://tobaccoroadgolf.com/course/

I am a sucker for sandy links courses, though, so maybe I'll be the only one that likes this course! Haha. Good luck this week everybody.
The golf course at Tobacco Road was created by Mike Strantz, an award-winning architect, and has received many awards for its beautiful layout & design.

I haven't played this recreation yet, but Tobacco Road is one of my favorite courses to visit. It's a typical Stranz design and people either love it or hate is. As much as I like to play, I would not want a steady diet of it!

Funny - I hated the course last week - stopped after 5 holes. Have played just 4 holes on this course so far, but love the layout. Did see the weed on the tee box on one hole, but got lucky and missed it.

not the kind you smoke, but the kind you pull from your landscape beds. There is also a tree in the middle of your tee shot on 9 which is not on the videos of the course web site - still like the course. However, I like a course with lots of sand traps, uneven ground and lots of twists and turns. Last weeks course it seem to me every hole was the same. Trees on left and right and small fairway and long.

Speaking of that, no joke my senior year of HS, we were teeing off on first hole with coaches and the golf team watching from the teebox and this kid pulled out his glove from his golfbag and a bag of weed dropped out and he didn't even realize it. Golf coach saw it and didn't say a word till after the kid teed off. Right after he hit, coach said "walk down there and pick your ball up and come back here to call your dad. You dropped your bag of weed there and you're kicked off the team." His "dad" was a cop. Ouch!!!!!!!!!

Doh!!! Now we know why high school tournaments take 9 hours to complete? Insert famous Bill Murray line here... "The amazing thing about this grass is you can play 36 holes and..."

That would be a super awkward moment. And while I think it's a little unfortunate for the kid, that's basically a kid being very stupid and occasionally being very stupid gets you into a lot of trouble.

Good point about not being like last weeks course, which apart from the final few holes was quite monotonous. I'm not in love with this one, but it's not too bad.

I was disappointed in how I played it, but I can feel a good round is very close.

Hit the concede button again when trying to quit. They really need to add the question: are you sure you want to concede the hole?

Snuck in under 80, so I'll take that. I still don't quite know what happened out there. I had a swing tip in mind commuting home, and really crushed it all round with the irons, but couldn't get the driver in sync with that. 3W was OK and most of my fairways were a 3W. Feeling like I need to go back to persimmon at the moment. Around the green is still leaking shots like crazy, felt like I wasted this round the way I was hitting irons. Going better in practice, but freezing up a lot when playing a round still.

Also, took all boosts off this round. Definitely lost a few yards on my decent drives, but really lost nothing on the others due to the fact I was hitting it sweeter.

Had a brainfart on my shot #56 tonight on the shot history. Went putter from the rough and it barely moved, so I figured I forgot to select putter to put it in 'putting mode.' (weird that the history shows that it carried 13 yards or whatever). Just checked the shot history and it was in putting mode (woops).. no harm done though, because I still left the second one inches from the first one (way short in the fringe). Can't even fake cheat right! haha.

Nice one allen2be, I have done that a few times already, it sucks having to chip it from there sometimes. I haven't tried it, but would a driver work as a putter from the rough, or does it just behave like the putter and go 1ft in TGC? My best bet is to just get better at chipping of course.
