To the Mods. Just completed two rounds of Q-School to establish a handicap. On the first round I hit into the water on hole 13. The game froze and would not let me drop or advance to the next shot. I tried conceding the hole but would not advance to the next hole. After 4 attempts, I finally quit the game and restarted. When I restarted, It took me to the 17 hole. When I looked at my score card it showed me conceding holes 13, 14, 15, and 16, which drove my score way high and ended the round with a 100. The second round I had no issues and shot an 84 which is more indicative of my play and more accurate handicap. Not sure what can be done but wanted to ensure that nobody thought I was sandbagging to raise my handicap.

Noob question....played first round of q school this morning, followed all directions for shot recording, tried to go to golf simulator tours. Com to make sure my recording was right, but I don't show up on there yet. Is there an over night processing or something that needs to happen?Comment

Hi All, I've finished round 1 of Q-School and found out I didn't setup shot recording correctly. (forgot to enter my tgc 2019 nickname and user ID in the settings of the forum)
I updated this now so that all is correct. Will this be an issue or can I just continue to play round 2?

I just finished my sixth round in Q-School yesterday and have played in 3 tournaments over the past few weeks. First of all, the online play is a ton of fun, I am loving the small added element of pressure in the tourneys versus just playing solo on TGC. After playing a few rounds now, I have a couple of questions/comments.
The difference in the three courses was crazy. The first one I played was High Elms GC. I managed to shoot a 98 followed by 99. Then the next two courses were two of the easiest I've ever played. I scored 2 79s on the second course, and a 75/74 on the third. Result: I now am registered as a 1.9 Handicap, compared to around 19 in real life (at least last year before I got the golf sim, no clue what this year will bring once Spring golf begins).
Questions...- In general, how does your real life handicap compare to your TGC tour handicap?
- Did I just happen into Q-School at a time when really easy courses were being played, or are they generally designed to be easy and the first course I played was the exception?

Q School and Exhibition are usually really short and easy. ProTee is usually more difficult and 6500 when available. Noonan is a real crap shoot these days. The sim makes everything easier for a number of reasons. Q-school course difficulty can vary somewhat, just like it can in any society. There's also a big learning curve with indoor golf and once you get a feel for how hard you need to hit certain shots around the green your scores will typically come down quite a bit so that might also partly explain your big difference in scores. Definitely venture outside of Q-school. The Protee United tour is great. Follows the PGA Tour schedule so you're playing the same courses they are each week. Fields are huge -- usually 200+ players. American Express had 260 last week and the Sony Open had well over 300. Most tournaments are played around 6500 yards or so (this week is tough though because the Torrey Pines version only has the 7600 yard tee box).
The winter league and exhibition season are fun because they are set up short and for scoring. So they are just 18 hole shootouts and a lot of fun to make a lot of birdies.
Noonan society is also very good with big fields as well. Several others to check out as well.Comment
