Any interest in a true sim society?

I can set something up with

No Boost
No gimmies or 3 foot gimmies if we can do that as 6 feet is just way too long.
No straight putting patch
Wind turned on
visual clues on screen would be mini map and the flagstick with distance on it.

I'd use all the LIDAR courses from here and TGC tours site along with some of the top rated fantasy courses after I test them out in steam to make sure they look playable on sim.

Anyone interested ? If we can get a bunch of people I'll set it up.

Jwheels9876 I like the idea of this true sim society but "no straight putting" is too random for me with a GC2.
I noticed shots going 13° right in TGC as they were going left in reality and other going way left in TGC as they were missed right.
Of course a lot of +/-3° shots as they were perfectly straight IRL my GC2 is well aligned.
Especially true on short putts so very frustrating when you're in the 3-6ft range...

I think there are some misreads due to the putter face: I noticed more misreads then I "stop" the club face just at impact (the Brand Snedeker way).

Whatever the cause, it too random for me...
The putting issue doesn't explain all my bad score though ;-)
For me, it would be better to continue the society with "straight putting" but, of course, the decision is yours.

I'm lost about your numbers though are you saying you're hitting the ball left in your room and its reading 13 degrees the opposite way on the GC2??

I just had to many random results on short putts.
All sort of results: right in real but left in GC2, left in real but right GC2 and a lot of dead center IRL going way right or left in GC2.

Oh ok.. I tried putting from an all turf mat today and was getting up to 6 degrees offline readings . I think the putting surface is the main culprit of bad reads ... if I putt from my putting turf if I go over 1 degree i hit it terrible

no zoom to pin or fairway landing spots etc...is the biggy....wish they had an option for the heat map in stead of the grid and moving lines on green....thats how we played on "About Golf" before i got my own sim and still miss it.

You can basically zoom to a landing in spot IRL using a phone with a GPS app nowadays so we might as well keep it. I was intrigued by the distance setting they give you the option of precise or range which gets more spot on the closer you are to the hole but I have no clue how wide the range is

Just a heads up, Starting tomorrow we head to Scotland to play the old course. High winds, Firm conditions and moderate speed greens. No gimmies, no boost. you can use straight putt patch....

our last real week of play for season 2 will be The True Sim Masters at Firethorn the week before the real event. 1 round with wind and firm greens to make it a real challenge....

the week of the real event we will have a fun 2 round mini golf tournament because 3 rounds of protee is plenty of real golf that week.

Hey guys, this society plays with no gimmies, not no putting. If you don't want to play by the rules, find a society that fits the way you play. If you want to continue playing , you have to change your settings to no gimmies when you play.2 more guys playing with gimmies here... out of 28 people who finished around 28% have not followed the rules .... becoming a waste of time trying to police this thing

Loved this week's course (St Andrews): wide fairways (even wide for when I'm spreading drives in all directions).
I was also in the zone (the luck zone): I made every favorable kick possible, putts from nowhere, outbound shot so outbound that it went beyond the outbound zone (thanks to the designer of the course)...
If only it could be like that each week...

True Sim season is ending in 2 weeks after the Mas-ters tournament round. after that we are going private. There are too many people just playing by their own rules, no putting, using 6 foot or longer gimmies and a bunch who don't have shot recording even on so who knows what they are doing. So if you want to keep playing you will have to send a request.. if not enough people do, I will just end it.

Yeah it was broken because I had to change the course to use the longer tee set. Once something gets set I guess you can't change it

I got banned from the society but I had all settings correct as far as I was aware?

Everyone not on discord was banned because a ton of people were playing with no putting and all other settings they felt like playing with. I unbanned everyone for now
