I played both rounds yesterday. Tough course for me. Really favors a fade on most holes and long hitters don't need driver on most. But there are a couple reachable par 4's. I must have had 8 or 9 birdies through both rounds and still scored +18 for the tournament. That last par 3 that's similar to #7 at Pebble was tough for me. I'm not hitting my wedges particularly well and I thinned my tee shot into the water past the hole both rounds. Then next shot I hit the tree that guards the left side of the green both times. Still I had fun. I'll have to participate in more tournaments.

Awesome Richard. play more if you can. Hopefully we get the handicaps in order and TGC tours will start doing the events. Gonna be nice!!

My handicap rounds (q school) are going to put me somewhere around scratch. Yet when I play tournament rounds I'm terrible.

Something like 9 over after 3 handicap rounds, yet I'm like 50+ over after the last 2 tournaments. Not good!

Maybe I'll get my act together for this tournament.

All these tournaments are retroactively applied handicaps correct?

Yes they will. Wow 9 over after 3 handicap rounds. You are on a roll there. I think there may be some others in your boat. I recommend that we adjust those handicaps slightly to allow it to be more fair.

Hey if I play bad when it counts its on me.

My overall stats are very close to real life tho. As far as putts, FIR, and GIR. I like that it keeps longest drive, hole out and longest putts.

            What's everyone's longest hole out?

My longest hole out is from 11 yards, but my longest putt is 47 feet. I haven't been playing TGC much so not a lot of rounds in my stats yet.

                Nice.

Mines in reverse. Holed out from like 22 yards and longest putt is from 20 feet or so. I barely make 1 putt during a whole round, so any putt going in is a surprise.

longest putt 36ft. longest hole out 20 yards. I wish that I could zero out putts per hole. 80% of my rounds were played using on the green 2 putt gimmies. That wrecks your stats. Did you guys know that on the leaderboard, if you click on the little icon on the right of a player, you can check out their stats and even watch their replays? Richard, I saw your putt on ST Andrews. Once in the replay, you can actually watch the whole round by changing hole or shot. I have 1 round completed on the current tournament. I hit the water and the trees too many times. I fear that I will be in the bottom third once again. 14th sounds great if you don't mention that there were only 18 players in the tournament. Overall TGC tournaments are fantastic and I feel like a kid at Christmas every time I play.

I agree Keith. It will only get better with TGC tours.

I echo this, and as I've said before on here, we must find a way of addressing handicaps.

I've just finished my two rounds. First round I drove, chipped and putted incredibly well for a +7. The second round I did neither and scrambled for a +20 total over the two roundsl.
But my handicap on TGC was 23. To try to adjust it I played an extra round on an extremely easy course (a desert one with forgiving greens) and shot -17 NET but my new handicap is still +21 - too high given the generous gimme settings.

I only have time to play 2 or 3 rounds each week on the simulator as it's not at my home, like many here and with 2 rounds being the tournaments, which don't affect handicap then it is going to take quite some time for my handicap to adjust to the true value so please accept this as my public apology for any silly Net Scores I get granted with in the very short term!

Try playing harder courses. That will lower your handicap faster. Try Great Tottington 79/135 I played that course a lot and my handicap is actually lower than it should be. Over 61 rounds I average 9 over and have a handicap of 4.4. Little brook manor does not do well to lower your handicap as it is too easy. I should be about a 10-13 handicap on TGC. Also, make sure that you are playing handicap rated courses.

That's interesting. I didn't realise that playing harder courses had a bigger effect on the handicap(on the assumption I actually do score well). As for playing handicap courses, I only play a non-tournament round maybe once every fortnight but always make sure it is a handicap course, while the handicap is being adjusted. The damage was done when I did my first 5 rounds before the tour started with a half built simulator and full putting! I'm not sure what handicap I should be but I would probably think it is around the 12 mark, based upon the current gimme rules.

I suggest we allow for manual adjustment of the handicaps if it is obviously not representing ones play.

Can someone explain why the courses we are playing in the tournaments aren't counting towards our handicap? Mine is pretty representative from playing the qschool, but this problem should resolve itself quickly if every round counted. All we need is to have a slope and rating applied correct?

I think some of the courses we are playing ad not handicapped with respect to the slope and rating. Some are sloped so they will count.

I just played two back to back rounds on the next tournament event course. My longest hole out is now 201 yards for an eagle. It gets better, then worse. Pay no attention to the 2 double bogeys. I like playing against my own ghost as I can see how certain lines work out. Hole 11 killed me both rounds.

I played much better my second round. not too many blow up holes.Still at the bottom of the heap....Using Hoosierdaddys suggestion by putting the ball just in front of the tee spot helped a lot--- I only duffed a couple... :P
but I think it ends up taking off some distance . Really having a lot more fun playing with The Golf Club and these online settings.. I would really like to play live though with you guys... don't let my score fool you- I play pretty quick.

question for you guys on putting.. I think I putt better when I just hit the putt on the angle I think I need instead of moving the cursor. I get much better distance this way(must be subconscious)
How do you guys do it?
