OK. How about this? I'll let you guys and your opponent decide before the match on how you guys want to play it. You can play it the way we've been doing it and keep scores for 18 holes or you can play it as a real match play after subtracting the hdcps. You let me know who won.

Yeah, I'd be good with that too. I'd recommend going with match play for the experience but at the end of the day it's about a head to head match with one winner.

I don't know if it's been decided yet but what are we doing in the event of a tie? Playoff holes at the end of the round until a winner is decided?

No one is saying they are afraid to play a high HDCP. Not in match play. I am very afraid to play you in stroke play. If I screw the poooch in any way shape or form I am done. But in match play I loose one. Its all a mind game that we all play on ourselves. Going into a match 20 strokes down is a heavy burden. even for a scratch golfer. Nothing personal here bro I have fun golfing with you. And I see your game is improving and I am happy for you. That is what HDCP is for to even the playing field and its working. Here is my suggestion for the next match play.

Straight up match play, no handicaps. Use the matchplay style in the game. Winner take all.

Yeah, No. You need to use handicaps. They are there to even up different skill levels. I'll tell you the logic behind the handicap method I described for match play. Each hole on a course gets a rating based on difficulty and they are ranked 1-18. The 1 handicap hole is the hardest. So, what this means is a 1 handicap play needs help of 1 stroke to par the 1 handicap hole on a course. He/she should be able to par every hole without "help". That's the theory behind that. Now, when you match up players with differing handicaps to be fair each player should get the help that their handicap provides. In my example above with a 1 handicap vs a 5 handicap. Each player gets to use their handicap on the course, so on the number 1 handicap hole they would each be get getting a stroke and therefor play it straight up. The 5 handicap player would get a stroke on the 2-5 handicap holes which in effect makes the whole round fair between the players. Now is real life golf there is cours

what ever you guys decide is fine. My point was I am willing to play with no handicaps in match play. I realize that would not work in stroke play because I can't compete with anyone stroke for stroke. I would lose everytime, I realize that. But in match play I can win a hole over a better handicap person. I have proven that in the past. The one thing that I thought is not fair is that on one hole I shoot a bogey, and the other guy shoots a par and we tie. I should lose that hole. Its not fair to the other guy.

I am just trying to be fair. I just want to play and have fun.

MMlicon when would you like to play our match? I could play thurs night. at lets say 7 cst or friday afternoon after 430CST and have to be done by 730 or saturday pretty much anytime until 730pm.

If you and your opponent choose to play your match as match play, subtract your hdcps. Then give the strokes to the higher hdcp guy, starting with #1 INDX hole. i.e. a 10 is playing a 5. 10-5=5

The 10 hdcp will get 5 strokes starting with #1 INDX hole. On the scorecard, the winner of the hole will enter a 1 for that hole. The loser of the hole does nothing. If the hole is halved, nothing needs to be entered.

The INDX on the mleaderboard scorecard were taken from the actual scorecards of the courses.

Personally I hate hndcaps but I understand why they are used.
- As it stands right now- Im playing worse than what Z gave me - a 13-im playing more like a 20 sometimes...but my first round I was doing well front 9- I kept telling TomJ after the 5th hole and onto hole 10 on our first match that we'll have to tell Z to change my hncp for the round- I must have gotten into my head I felt like i was cheating cause then I fell apart... and that kind of ticked me off- why should i feel bad about it-- but thats the kind of person i am- i want my opponent to have a good round and i'd like to have a solid round as well.
competition is nice - but im not here to be a winner- i just want to play some golf and make some friends.
The handicap system is being used here fairly-and it does appear to make it more interesting during the tourneys- I highly doubt anyone is going to play bad for a few holes to raise his hncp.. I sure as hell would and should be below 10 on the pro tee. I'll get the
