There has been talk occasionally of running 2 leaderboards. The tour has a net leaderboard in which each player plays against their own handicap. While this gives everyone a chance to win with 2 above average rounds, it is difficult for the scratch golfers to show well. The scratch golfer will not have a chance against a 12 handicapper that has a couple of great rounds. I have only used my sim a lot since August. Prior to that I had a shoulder injury that prevented me from playing. Now that I can play a lot (160 rounds since the end of August) I might hold the title of most improved, which means that I have recently showed very well on the net leaderboard. Now that I have had my handicap dropped, my days at the top will be limited. I would really like to set my goals on the gross leaderboard. Okay, I am no threat to the best golfers here but I would be ecstatic if I were to come in the top 3-6 on the gross board. I feel that everyone would benefit from a dual board. Scratch golfers would feel the satisfaction of actually winning and your high handicapper will be happy when they finally put two rounds in the 70's back to back to finish first. Not sure how to work the scoring but that is something that could be discussed prior to the next tour starting. Thanks ProTee for running a great tour.

I thought it was agreed upon to do a separate leaderboard and standings for net and gross. Guess that was going to be too much leg work and won't be implemented until we get the API feature in the next update? -

I agree, for the HCP and thus the net leaderboard to be meaningful, we should know how it is calculated, formulated, maintained, etc. For the online play to flourish, the HCP rules have to be known and appreciated by its participants. @ProTee, please help us. Thank you.Comment

I think you guys are taking this way too seriously......really who cares how things are calculated. This is supposed to be for fun, its simulator golf.....just saying..............Comment

Knowing the HCP rules does not take any fun out of golf, thus, I hope it should not reduce any fun for simulator golf. TGC online play brought us together, I am thankful of that. But respectfully, I happen to think that every participant should be given the option of knowing our HCP rules.Comment

I'm pretty sure this echoes how most of us view this, well said. Of course it's just for fun, that goes without saying. But the competitive aspect makes it even more fun. I enjoy playing the tour rounds more than just playing 18 holes on my own. I am not too concerned about my handicap. If I play well..... it goes down a bit. I don't..... it goes up. After you have played 5 or 6 tournaments, you will probably find that it is pretty accurate. People that are new to TGC will have a big changes in their handicap due to the learning curve of new software. I know that I started at 18 and within a few weeks was down to 12. They don't make adjustments after each event as far as I know. I would also like to see a gross board as well as handicapped.Comment

We now calculate your handicap based on your scoring of all the tour rounds you played. Nothing fancy.
If you want something fancy, just let us know how you want this to be calculated and we will implement.
The tour handicap is different from your game handicap. At the moment courses are indexed based on the number of plays which is set to 200 (too much). We decreased this to 10, which means that when a course has been played 11 times, it will get handicap rated by the system. This way you play many more hc rated courses and work on your handicap, so your game handicap will be more accurate, which we can then use in the tour.Comment
