I wrote this in a comment earlier but wanted it to be easier to find as I think it is important.

ProTee United, since the update is scheduled for release next week you guys should be aware that theclv24 is very close to releasing Oakmont. I'm guessing he is still 1-2 weeks away. Typically he would then release the ProTee version a few days to a week after that. With the US Open scheduled for 6/16-6/19 please consider doing a course sync after he releases each of those versions. It was incredible for me playing Magnolia a number of times right before the Masters. I felt I knew that course like I was a caddie. I would love to do the same with Oakmont. It would be a shame if Oakmont is available for the console version but we miss out on playing it in our version before the Open due to not scheduling a course sync. Thanks for listening.

I believe that we were actually counting on that course from theclv24 to be done by that time. If it's not, we will have to pick one of the Oakmont's ..... which I haven't found a good one yet. Or pick an entirely different course. You can see the real course here http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org/D...d=249554&vnf=1 I am looking forward to clv24 releasing this one.

Understood, but recognize that there are two ways to interpret if it is ready on time. I am confident that this will be ready at least two weeks before the Open (he'll want people to get the chance to play it a bunch before we see it on TV). I'm less confident it will be ready (especially a simulator version) in the next 7 days. If ProTee does the update and course sync next Monday and clv24 releases it a week later, I'm just requesting that ProTee does a special course sync to get that course onto our server.

If they won't, hopefully clv24 would be willing to e-mail one of us the course file so we could publish it directly as it would be a shame to miss out on playing this course before the US Open. He is of course under no obligation to send anyone the course file.

Makes sense. That seems like a great reason to delay the sync. In the past ProTee has been more than accommodating when given special requests. Being that this request is for the betterment of the tour, I am pretty sure that they won't have a problem with your request. Being that this is a 3 round major makes a difference as well. If at all possible, we want to play the same course as the pros. We all know the great job that clv24 does on his courses. It would be great if we had a certification for accuracy.... we could call it Ks-man approved!..... Anyone second that?

I'd be happy to delay the sync as long as it doesn't delay the rest of the update. I'm getting super excited for the new features and we're not even totally sure when he is going to release Oakmont, could be another 3 weeks plus for all we know for sure. So I'm all in if it's possible to release the updates but hold of the course sync for as long as it's needed.

There's no reason not to do the sync with the update. I would just recommend a second course sync. We could also wait for the second sync after hearing when clv24 thinks the ProTee version will be ready. Assuming there isn't a huge gap we just do the sync then. RDH and I have been pushing ProTee to do a normal scheduled course sync. If they were to communicate that a course sync would always happen on the first Monday of the month at 9am EST (or whatever time they choose) then people would know to expect it. This could be communicated in the news section of the game and included with future software version e-mail updates. There are so many new courses that come through that I think a monthly sync would be worthwhile.

There's just a couple of bugs being fixed. This IMO is the biggest update yet.

So......I hate this course haha. On my way to a 47 over....I acted like my three year old, doing everything but laying on my belly wailing my arms and legs. I think I even cried on 17 when, using my driver, I couldn't reach. Couldn't reach most of the fairways either. I'm going to knock out my second round and lay in bed in the fetal position repeating over and over "I did my best"

            This course is brutal.

Well, that is reassuring! I snapped my 4 iron two weeks ago in a fit of golfing rage! When I finally finish my rounds on this course I might do something more enjoyable like go outside and mow the lawn - with scissors.

I played 12 holes yesterday and started having wifi issues, kept freezing up on me. Will try again today.

There is definitely no margin for error off the tee, very tight.

Nice course though. Anyone know if the layout is similar to the real quail hollow ?

Really, what is going on with all these long courses. These cannot be that playable or even enjoyable for most. It doesn't matter that this is a sim environment. Many par 4's well over 460 and even over 500. Then kick in a few crazy pin positions, unreachable fairways and some really tight driving holes. I'm going to guess these scores are going to be worse than the Heritage ones.

Played my second round and continue to struggle off the tee. I think this is the major thing that is holding me back from being able to consistently put up some low scores. A nasty slice has worked its way into my driver and for four weeks now I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it. A few weeks ago pretty much all my shots were right to left and I'm still seeing that with my irons. I'm hoping once I start getting outside and feeling more free with my driver (the main club that I feel cramped with inside) I'll be able to put that final piece together.

I think this is more of a tgc spin issue as well.

I'm a natural fade player but can hit a baby draw as well and I'm able to go this at will on the Skytrak range and irl. For some reason I really struggle off the tee with driver in tgc.

Like I said, hitting in same space with Skytrak range I can duplicate my normal swing speed ball speed and typical flight pattern.

I'm hoping this is one of the things that will be addressed in the next update!

I've read this is something being addressed. Thank goodness because I do have a slice in real life, and in the ST Range, but I can usually compensate with aim. In TGC, it doesn't matter how for off I aim. That ball will slice through the fairway 70 yards when I'm already aiming 20-30 yards right (I'm a lefty).

How is a slice a TGC issue exactly? Are you saying that your skytrak is showing straight numbers and the ball is slicing? Are you showing draw spin on the skytrak and hitting a slice? I don't see this in my TGC set up.

I didn't say I had a slice the other poster did.

What I said was on Skytrak I can hit a fade that starts on centerline and ends up 5-10 yards right of centerline or I can hit a fade that starts maybe 5-10 yards left of centerline and ends up on centerline. I wouldn't call these slices, this is a fade.

I haven't been able to consistently do this on tgc, the spin numbers(side spin) seem to be slightly exaggerated.

I have no idea why the Skytrak range represents what my actual game is but tgc seems slightly worse.

Coupe other things I noticed in comparing Skytrak numbers vs tgc vs my fitting on gc2

My driver ss and ball speed averaged 105.6 /155 on gc2. Launch and spin conditions 12-14 degrees and 2500 avg.

I'm able to consistently hit these numbers using the Skytrak app but on the tgc I don't think I've seen a driver ss over 101 and the spin always seems a little higher.

Am I missing something here? Aren't the flight physics regarding spin in general one of the things being addressed in the update?
