if you miss the fairway which I did on almost tee shot, this is tough course. Rough is high and many of the fairway bunkers are 10 to 30 ft deep. Shot 90. My ghost partner was shasha - close match and nice birdie on number 18 - great tee shot and 2nd shot - sasha for the win by 4 - I bogeyed

Yes and very tight fairways. Tough course but i enjoyed it. Was looking for a ghost but i guess i was the first who played it hahahaha penrose i think we are about the same level. When i had you as a ghost last time it was a tight game as well. ProTee United i'm not sure why my score didn't show up on the leaderboard here.

fyi, i know this is all for fun, but it is not very fun when you are told you'll get a handicap after playing 5 rounds....but then you don't.

            just saying....

The tour handicap system requires you to play 5 tour rounds. There is a difference between the in game handicap and the USGA handicap we use on the tour.
Did you play 5 tour rounds yet?

The Q school rounds don't count toward your 5 tournament rounds. It looks like mthunt tried to tell you that on the Q school thread when he said that Q school is "Kind of unnecessary with the new handicap system but good practice none the less." I can see where you might have misunderstood though.

Here is how the tour handicap is calculated.
How is your TGC Tour Handicap Index Calculated Your TGC Tour Handicap is calculated based on the official USGA Handicap Formula. Step 1: Calculate the

I think what happens with a fair number of players is that their handicap is pretty high after their first few tournaments since they are still getting used to the short game, indoor swing, etc. Once that clicks, they can shoot some really low net scores for a tournament or two because their handicap hasn't dropped yet. Then things tend to level out and the handicap really represents what a pretty good round should be for you. That is why most of the first page of the leaderboard is in the net -5 to +5 range. At least in your case you can have a handicap established before the main season starts, just in time for you to shoot some really low scores

that doesn't seem to make much sense. if q-school rounds are not tournament rounds for the purpose of establishing a handicap, then what are they? lol, anyway, seems pretty bizarre to have to play actually tournament rounds at scratch for essentially 3 weeks in order to participate, but whatever.

Q School rounds count toward your tour handicap but given handicaps are created very quickly and accurately now, q school isn't necessary. Including q school and tournaments, how many rounds do you have? It's often easy to fix an issue. Things happen. Just saying.

Well I just wrapped up the first round. One of my better sim rounds in a while. Just like real life I'm striking the ball well, but just not scoring like I should be. My short game is killing me IRL and on the sim. Left a birdie about an inch from the cup. Left a couple of par saves short inside a foot. Positive was I was absolutely dialed in with the driver like never before. By far and away my best driving round. I did have I think two get away from me. I had a couple I didn't hit the fairways because I played it too far to the right thinking it would be the normal fade-power fade and I just didn't get it. But VERY happy with the driver this round. Finally did get the putter going on the back nine. Had a 20-foot bird I think and a 20-foot par save and a couple 10-plus par saves. We'll see what round 2 brings :-).

I want to play this tourney, but I may bow out of this one. My hands are extremely sore from this weekend. I've been having some serious problems with my swing on all my clubs. So I was at the range quite a bit, or playing the Skytrak range all weekend. The frustration of terrible strikes had me squeezing liquid out of my clubs. I'll evaluate where my hands are Friday and maybe knock them out last minute.
