My first round started bad, got worse, and miraculously got better. I doubled 1, was 10 over after 8, took an unplayable from the beach that did not improve my lie. Then had 2 birdies coming in, including a hole out sand shot on 18. Finished at 15 over. I told my wife that I played lousy but scored well. That is usually the opposite.

      Great playing bama.
I played 17 decent holes today in round 1. Unfortunately number 5 happened. I hit my ball right on the par 3 and rolled down the cliff onto the beach. I stared at a wall in front of me and from about 30 yards hit 6 shots into the slope and back down before hitting one 50 yards backwards then hit on the green lipped out a Putt for nine so made 7 over 10. Is there anything else I could have done from down there? I tried hitting lob wedges as high as I could and actually hit my ceiling once but still couldn't get over the cliff. Doesn't really seem fair .SMH

Had the same thing happen to me a couple times. Had to go backwards, real fun.

Well at least now I know. Could have saved me 5 maybe 6 strokes potentially.

Same thing happened to me in all three rounds. First round I went over the cliffs on 3-4 holes. It was HORRIBLE! Only one time in the second round was I able to somehow get back onto the course in 1 shot.

Where would it have put me? Back on the tee? Never had to use that option. I feel violated lol

With declare unplayable lie you can move the ball back in a straight line until you are back on the fairway.

My 3rd round which was the only one worth posting. Had a crazy bogey on a par 5. I ended up 80 yards away 40+ feet below the pin after my second shot.

You didn't quite understand what I was saying. Since my system calculates spin, there will be times when the calculation is not accurate. If I know I have 6500 rpm on a well hit 7 iron but the system is calculating that I have 5000 rpm. The system allows me to add or take away a % of the calculation. If I hit two shots .... one well and skull one.... they both will not have 6500 rpm. I use my 7 iron as an example because I have hit it hundreds of times on a GC2. This adjustment is for the user to duplicate his real life game, not to give an advantage. It's no different than the boost feature in TGC for skytrak users. If your skytrak is light on distance, this allows you to match you indoor game with your outdoor. The club in question was my SW which IRL I use for most approach shots. I hit down on it and generate a lot of spin IRL. This new adjustment allowed me to add the spin needed to duplicate what I see IRL. In doing so it also added too much spin around the greens. So the only answer is to use a different club set up to match my real life game around the greens.

Do you remember the plethora of problems ST users had when they first started with TGC. Users were complaining that the greens wouldn't stick like they do IRL. Updates have fixed that issue. This CX2 update has allowed me to fine tune my clubs to more closely match my real life game. This update for me is still relatively new and needs some further adjustment around the green and bunkers. It has allowed me to more closely duplicate my game to a point that my friends actually think that the addition of a sensor mat is a waste of money for me.

keither5150 oh, okay that makes more sense. It's a boost, but it's relative to what the calculated number is not a consistent value? That makes a lot more sense.

Yeah.... It would be nice if I had a trackman 4.... but I don't so I have to work with what I have. I will be adding a sensor mat once funds allow. That will help with accuracy.

Hole 4 and 8 is just about impossible with my swing. Both rounds 1 & 2 I just couldn't get any shot to launch up high enough to get me out of the beach and anywhere near he fairway or green...

+24 I have nothing else to say. Worst round in a long time.

Oh, also, there were 2 rewinds as my cam went out and the shots were goofy. Got it fixed and all was good after 2 holes.

I also had two rewinds during putting which is rare. I have my vcam on a little stand. If a rolling ball touches it, it could cause a miss read. I assure you that my putt went more than 3 inches. The rewinds might have been on my second round.

Hit the green in 5 on hole 14 and ended up with an 11. Yeah it was one of those days!

I lost 2 balls in the sand that led to an 11 and 10. So many chip shots went 2 feet in the bunkers. 8 or more shanks. So much frustration I almost started swearing. (I never do that). I should have taken a nap instead. Last week was my best rounds and this week I could not hit a ball.

My cameras were not working consistently. I think I need to recalibrate my vcam. When I align it to the ball postition it is not perpendicular to the wall. Of course it could not be me, so it must be my setup. Yeah that is it.

+36 or so on the round.

UPDATE----- My VCAM was knocked off its vertical position giving errant shots. I reset it and played the same course again and my shots were all recorded well. I guess I should practice a few holes before starting a tournament.

Congrats to Bama. I don't feel too bad though as it looks like most had a tough time with this one. I wasn't up for the pain of playing this 3 rounds so I just started practicing during my second round.

I can't wait to play a more "normal" course this week

Last time we played Pebble Beach it was 6200 yards. It was quite a bit easier. This time around I almost ended up on the 7th green on hole number 6 thanks to a long shot that hit the cart path.

That was really fun!!! I found the ocean on several shots. Too bad I started the last night and couldn't get in three rounds. Definitely playing the next one.

Hi there , I have not ever posted anything on this forum , but I thought I would just thank everyone for so much info on this site . I also played in my first tournament , and really enjoyed it
I played under the name Craig Giesick , but I guess it would be a good idea to have the same name in the Tournaments as I do on this site . I will do that next time . Again , thanks for all
                  the great info
