I had some technical issues with round 1 which caused some angst...but a solid series of pars in the middle of the round helped a lot. One water shot causing a double bogey was offset by one birdie. Great course, right on the edge in terms of distance. A couple of par 4's in the 450 range and 3 par 3's in the +200 yd range keep me humbled. But a beautiful course. I got to rest and man-up for the next two rounds.

Oh, and double bogeying 2 of the par 5's really sucks.

Man I had to work just to shoot a 78. Overall I felt like I was crushing it too. This is not the course for guys like myself who don't hit a driver in the sim. Started off with a double bogey which was partly due to not warming up. Hit one in the water which resulted in another double since I had to go back and rehit from the previous spot. On the other 16 holes, I only managed to hit two greens in regulation, but I got up and down 11 out of 14 times. Not exactly stress free haha.

Played my final round this evening. While it was two strokes better than round two, it was another bad showing. I was actually doing really well to start, and then I hit hole 8, the split up par 4. Could not get my six iron over and then couldn't get my sand Wedge up high enough over the cliff. That effected me for a few holes. Think I took a 10 on it. I was only +1 or 2 going into that hole.

My drives were actually pretty good. But I have not been able to hit a decent iron in months. All my irons have 10 yards of seperate on from am 8 up. Still seeing a loss of 20 or 30 yards on all clubs, and I know it's a swing issue, not a skytrak issue. I'll gut through next week and then look forward to a few week break of not picking up a club while I take the family to Disney World and settle in my new job.

Oh, and get those lessons going hahaha.

Got my first simulator hole in one in the second round on number 12! I went to watch the replay and it showed it missing the hole though! I'm still excited though. I've only had one in real life not counting one on a par 3 course. Managed a pair of 79s for the last two rounds so overall pretty happy.

Just played the 54 holes straight up this morning. Average first 36 and played beautifully on the last 18 and in general loved the course but so sick of those greens (90% of putts seeming to have the same severe slope). Could not buy a putt for anything, missed, shaved the hole so so many times. All in all delighted with my game but could have been so much better.
Are there any features coming that will support different pin positions to give a little variety when playing multi-round tournaments like you get with JNPG?

Congrats Andy on the hole-in-1, couldn't quite catch you!

Very frustrating round 2. Start out great, I played 2 holes brilliantly resulting in back to back birdies and then immediately follow that up with the biggest colossal screw up of a hole you can imagine resulting in a quad bogey....how do I do it? Lol,,,,,I drove the ball great...felt like it could have been a 75 round instead of 82.

You can see the birdie - birdie - quad bogey starting at 17:58

Bogey free 68 for round 3! I think that is the first time I've done that on TGC. Hopefully it holds up for my first win.

Agree with above, that's great shooting. There are several holes that one slip and you are easily looking at double bogey. To go with no bogeys is really good golf!

Well this course ate me spit me out and ate me again in round one. Didn't have time for a practice round and slammed out all 3 rounds at once. tough course . could have played in the low 80s in round 2 and 3 if it wasn't for my screw ups on the last 3 holes. started i think 9 over after 4 in round 1 hahahahaha well that's done, off to the next adventure

Pretty happy with my second round 81. Couldn't buy a putt, but was chipping decent.

First tournament I've ever played in with TGC. There is a prize for the highest score right? My driver needs major work!!

Another 81 in my final round with 2 doubles. Definitely felt like I left some out there in that round. Had some technical difficulties (skytrak stopped reading) and thought I would come back from the break stiff, but went on the par train instead.

This week did a lot for my confidence. I was really dreading playing this longer course.

Ugh. Sadly this course is just too long for me and makes me wonder why I even bother with golf. Then I remember I'm playing a rediculous course (albeit perfect lies) as someone who's really only played a year or so.

                        Anyways enough crying. Blech.

Nice shooting on the 68 Bama. To get a round in the 60's when Pebble Beach is playing 7000 yards is impressive.
