Fairly easy course layout with brutally slippery greens. Tough to get the ball to stick for sure. I feel like my game is improving every tour and my score is steadily dropping each tourney which is exciting!

I loved this course, greens included. After my first couple holes I clubbed down and played for a good bit of roll out. Other than hitting a couple short chips too far (they usually check up in TGC), I thought it was a really good test.
If I hadn't chili-dipped a few drives, I feel like I could've gone really low.

That is the secret to playing these greens..... play short, even with chipping. If you are not in the right spot on these greens they can punish you. I had 5 double bogies during this tournament. A few times a 8 yard chip rolled 25 feet past the cup. A few of the hole placements were on the top of a hill making it not very sim friendly. The course is nice and has some interesting holes. I don't think that too many people will be keeping this one in their favorites. We need to test the other versions before playing this one again on the tour.

The greens rolling out....that's a firmness setting no?
Did we revert back to using the course creators settings for green firmness?
I haven't experienced greens rolling out like that before. I suppose it possible that approach shots were rolling out more than normal due to the designer not sloping most of them back to front...but that would have no impact on short chips rolling out like a bump and run.

I guess I'm going to have to play this course again, because I don't remember large rollouts. The chips yes, but I experience that on every course :-) or should I say :-(.

First round:
After a really rough start of +3 through 5 holes (not helped by frustration with wifi issues), my short irons caught fire (along with a couple chip-ins) for a series of gimme birdies and -8 over the last 13 holes. Nine birdies in a round is my best birdie binge ever.Last edited by Godfather; 10-14-2016, 04:28 PM.

Five birdies without a GIR in the tournament, very impressive. Nice job. Now that i look at it, i don't think it's tracking GIR correctly. I just looked at mine, and i had one chip in. It shows that I had three birdies without a GIR, but it only should have been one. I think i stuffed two shots inside gimme range. Either way, great tournament.Last edited by wbond; 10-14-2016, 08:21 PM.

Thought most were exaggerating the roll out on these greens, but wasn't the case. Those bad boys were challenging to hold. I believe it's been mentioned by someone before, but it appears that a shot inside of gimmie range doesn't register as a GIR or a putt. Hopefully that's something Protee can tweak.

first round was the best I've ever played. 2nd round started off a little rough and then I accidentally conceded a hole. game is definitely improving though.

WTF was with those greens? Playing like crap really magnified it. I couldn't make a putt to save my life.My Courses:

Hahahahaha this was my first tournament and I got my ass kicked by the greens. Not having a handicap was ok just two more rounds before I get mine. Lol

Round 2 was better than the first. Still not consistent with anything. That is my game. Hopefully it gets better over the winter as we do not have many outside gold days left. For some reason I get more distance with an intentional fade off the drive than a straight or draw. One rewind that I remember. A lob wedge that went up and down in a pyramid shape and flew 115 yards. If I had 2 rounds like this one I would be alright.Love the Protee Golf Simulator. The shot delay is almost none, especially compared to Skytrak.

For tournaments, is the game using our local settings (from config.txt file) for green firmness and stimp? Or is it using the values set by the course designer?
These greens seemed rock hard, for me I could only get gap wedge and higher to hold. Even my PW would roll out 5-10 yards (at least).

Greens were brutal, probably the most inconsistent round ive had in a while in the second round. Had 2 double bogeys, 3 bogeys and 7 birdies for a nice tidy even par round haha. Getting the chips to not roll like 20 feet past took some real concentration and touch, either did that perfectly or absolutely horribly this round
Not sure why my shot tracking didn't turn on, changed the username to Ironstrokes and saved it in the settings (was my full name for some reason before) and copied the code to the settings here. Must be missing something, I'll have to go back and read the other threads talking about how to activate this again.

That was my first sim round since June, but something was completely different. I couldn't hit a chip shot soft enough. The fairways didn't seem any firmer than usual however. I didn't pay particularly close attention to the slope of the greens on the front of the green, but maybe the majority of the time the ball was landing on a down slope? I know that's a popular tactic to make the console and PC version more difficult.Originally posted by goatbarn View PostAnyone tried to change their firmness setting and replay this?
It's apparent that a lot of us believe the greens were firmer than normal...that leads me to think somehow we reverted back to using the designers settings for firmness.
Can Protee comment?
