  • Do you want a sim hdcp that approximates a real life hdcp? Yes or No

Just a simple yes or no is required. Do you want a sim hdcp that approximates your real life hdcp?

    Sure?

I'm leaning towards no, as they are very different.

Yes, but I played IRL today and had some really F'd up lies. Tough to compare apples to apples.

The actual number doesn't matter to me but the relative difference from real to simulated handicaps should be similair for all of us.

If i remember correctly, there was a thread that had most of the people in the 4-6 stroke difference after they got the hang of the software and whatnot.

No- that's not why I'm interested in slope and course ratings. I just think some difference in the ratings of the courses would be a good thing.

Yes but not a huge issue for me. Real cap 1 lower than sim right now.

There is a learning curve, so no doubt that will change.

No. Same reason i don't want my apples to taste like oranges. They're not the same.

If there is a better way to differentiate the courses, that would be good. Some are definitely harder than others and if ratings could reflect that, then it would be a plus.

                I vote yes.

The differential between RL HCP and Tour HCP are all over the place, it also changes over time. More recently, there is an uneven mat developing that caused me to hole no putts inside of 15 ft. but my irons shots straightened out a bit. "Yes", if you have a robust method, but I think there are just too many variables across the playing field.

I would vote yes but as others have mentioned its not the same thing. Theoretically the sim scores should be lower. Would we be easing up the course ratings to compensate? I've been wondering what scores we would be seeing if we did a tourney with no gimmies. I'm thinking the scores would get a lot closer to RL, possibly worse too. Might be fun to try one that way.

I've wondered that as well with the no gimmies.

                    no. it's not RL.

what i would like is the ability to declare a handicap round, played under the same rules we use in tournaments, and have the rounds tracked on the tournament web site, including the ability to look at the scorecards from the declared rounds.

i've played computer games since before they existing and a serious pet peeve of mine is when historical data is not kept in a meaningful fashion. In a sports game, it drives me absolutely nuts. I've played near 100 rounds and can tell you very little about them outside the tournament rounds I've played here, because I can go back and look at them, thanks to this website.

Not a given choice, but really - it doesn't matter to me. Maybe because I'm high handicap, it doesn't make any difference how "accurate" the HCP is... I know how (badly) I'm playing!

I'm not to fussed to be fair. I'm a high handicapper and I'm looking for more consistent scores and set goals of breaking 100,90,80 etc.
