injured again. same rib muscle. lol, i'm starting to think that 2 rounds a day for 2 months straight...after not playing RL in 4 years...at age 48....is not such a great idea. i don't appear to be as bendy as i use to be.

have no follow through, so everything just gets pushed out to the right. got in 12 holes the other day before i had to quit. arrrgh.

I second that, stretching is needed all of us old men either grunt when we bend over or grunt when we stand up.. disc degeneration in neck and back my swing is not the same as when I was playing in college

I have been using a rumble roller most days for the past year or so whether I am playing or not. It does help getting blood flowing to back, quads, feet, etc....

Ugh, played a practice round that went well using the things I've been working on in my lesson. Was seeing mostly straighter flight and my distance coming back. Then played the competitive round and it all went down hill.

Eagled 16 (holed from 146yds out). Then 4 putted on 17 for double. Cruel game we play.

Hello .. Quick question ? What does this mean exactly?

Boost: OFF (+/-5% max on club settings)

I read it as Boost Off... not sure what the +/-5% means?

          Thanks

I haven't been able to play yet this week. Hoping to get a round in tonight. I definitely concur on the getting old part. I've had to switch to graphite shafts because of the pain in my hands. And still hurts after getting done. I'm using a Tour Striker training aid with the golf grip and big rubber stretch band to stretch out before I play. I really need to remember to do it after I'm done. But that sure helps. Doesn't help the hands thought :-).

It is not Boost-- Off. It is "Boost: +/-5% maximum on club settings"

In TGC interface you can adjust your individual club boost to make the distance closer to real life. For example, if your 8 iron is your 150 club and in TGC it is always 143. You would boost 5% to get it to resemble real life. The +/-5% limits those who may want to boost their clubs 50%.. I just keep it at default and know my distances on the sim and IRL may differ.

Sorry guys, it did indeed say Boost: OFF. Not sure why, but we quickly changed it because it was a bit confusing and forgot to inform you.
Boerdoc is right about the adjustment.

Hope you get better soon Thinman! I was playing too much when I first got everything setup and it tweaked my neck. Now I limit myself to one round and a little bit of practice. I also try to play IRL 1-2 times per week and I don't play on the sim when I do that. Now the neck is back to 100%.

Disappointing tournament for me. Chipping was awful. Probably only hit 20% of fairways. Driver was consistent but consistent with too much hook. Got a new putter and absolutely love it! Can't wait to get it out on the course!

ROFLMBO - I got a new Scotty Cameron M1 - OH MAN! I've putted with it several times inside the store and thought eh do I really need to spend that much money on a putter. Well I've seen some Scotty's on a Facebook Golf Club Traders page and wasn't successful getting one. Had some advertising money come in that I wasn't expecting, so I said what the hey. Went back in and putted with it again and pulled the trigger. I was actually going in to hit the Nike Method M5-12 mallet putter because it went on sale for $89. That's normally my price range :-). It was a good putter too, but when I set it down it the face would turn in. So I had to make a conscience effort to square the face before taking the club back. That made me nervous. So I went with the Scotty even though the huge price difference.

And SO glad I did. That is the sweetest feeling putter I've ever hit. My favorite back in the day was a Rossie Tank style of putter with the old balata insert in it. I LOVED that putter. The feel, the balance, the sound . . . WOW on this new Scotty.

I've never really been a name brand guy (that putter was some no name brand). I was a 4 handicap back in the day with a set of clone Ping eye irons. Never been fitted. Never had a golf lesson, you know the stick. Started playing again two years ago after a 15-year or so break. Old clubs were nasty after sitting for so long. So went back to a cloned set of Cobra Bio Cell irons. Really liked them. But then decided to get fitted. Ended up with Ping i irons for "real" this time :-).

While I'm still not convinced you HAVE to spend lots of money on name brand equipment I'm happy with my set up I have right now.

Now if I can just get my golf swing to match we'll be good to go :-). I still have 6.5 years to get ready for the senior tour :-).

My second round score really didn't indicate how well I played. My Girs were 14/18..... that is double my usual %. The score was only average because I had trouble dropping putts. The pressure does make a difference. I usually score a few strokes lower in my practice rounds. I love the new version of this course.

Plenty of great rounds all around... Vincent vega hit 16 Gir ( approach shot gimmies don't register as a GIR)...... 16 Gir's is very strong... well done.
