Here's the mygolfspy K-sig vs Pro V1 test in case you haven't seen it. Could really put a huge dent in the used golf ball industry.

Thanks Vincent, I'm hoping they slip some on shelf up here and no one knows what they are so that I can fill up my cart and run not walk to the parking lot, after going through the cash register of course.. lol..

I had to order mine.. I was in need of some new balls anyway, I ordered 3 packs, so 6 dozen... I like them just fine, but I'm a newbie mostly and it's hard for me to tell differences just yet

I paid $30 for brand new pro v1 practice balls in Canada so Kirkland knockoffs would have to be a lot cheaper to make sense.

          In Canada?

My costco doesn't have them and couldn't order them. How were you able to order them?

If the name on the ball and not performance is a huge issue, then yes, new Pro V practice balls and new Kirklands wouldn't make sense at all at the same price.

Eh? Both name AND performance of pro v1 are the gold standard. Preformance *is* the reason to use the pro V1's instead of knockoffs. I don't understand your comment.

No question, Titleist is as proven as it gets, but the mygolfspy link I provided earlier proves that the two balls are nearly identical. In fact, one could argue that the Kirkland provides better numbers depending on what criteria you value. My comparison on my Skytrak between the two balls reflected exactly what the mygolfspy study shows.

I keep a box around of new Pro V's for tournament play for the reason that maybe the trusted name gives me just a little more confidence. But now when playing afternoon rounds or in the weekend dogfight, I play a Kirkland. There's no reason not to, they literally perform and most importantly feel just like a Pro V.

The point is that pro v1 practice balls don't just "feel like" or "perform like" pro V1's. They ARE pro V1's.

There's no reason to switch to a knockoff when you can get the real deal for the same price.

The Kirkland "knockoffs" are $30 for two dozen, so they are half the price of the practice Pro V1's

Are you talking CANADIAN prices? Since that is what we're talking. If so where did you get them?

If Canadian then that's half the price I paid for my pro v1 practice balls which would be awesome.

Sigh....... And my original point in which you first quoted was that I was comparing these new premium balls, because that's absolutely what these balls are, to buying used or refurbished Titleist balls like another user mentioned. You're the one that brought up practice balls. But don't let that or pesky facts from independent studies get in the way of an opportunity to be argumentative. I'll keep paying my $15/dozen for a premium golf ball and you can keep paying for Titleist's advertising budget.

If y'all would go to work instead of posting here , you could buy all the golf balls you could use.. No seriously, I too do not like the prices for premium golf balls and yet I pay $40/dozen for Chromesoft Truvis yellow and black. That is only because I want to be different. I am not good enough to know the difference, (yet).

I want to know why when I find a ProV1 and I scuff it for some reason that ball flies straighter than the brand new ones. Really, I can play 2-3 rounds with a scuffed one but only a few holes with a new one before it flies crookedly out of bounds. Surely, It is not me.

Anyway, we all have our own peculiarities with respect to equipment. Some of us are very technical and exacting, (anal). They cannot play without a new Prov1. Others play whatever they find. A wise man once told me that it is a wiser investment to pay for lessons to do it correctly than to use the best equipment improperly. Some may have the talent to not need lessons and are gifted. I am not talented and I need lessons regularly. I gladly pay for them so that I can enjoy the game more.

Glad to see the different approaches to playing this wonderful game.

Of course I brought up the pro v1 practice balls! That was the entire point! Lol

No need to buy Kirklands (or used balls for that matter) if one can get the real thing for the same price.

Your example was $30 CANADIAN would be a good deal and I pointed out that one can buy pro v1 practice balls for that price. You then said one should buy the Kirklands anyway which didn't and still doesn't make any sense.

Obviously if the Kirklands are cheaper they are a better deal. But that is not what the discussion was about.

CKLguy and I have had the same issue. The 3 of us have different sims. ProTee, GSA, ST. For me, it's about 1 in 300-450 shots so not really a big deal. The last one I remember on the tour was at pebble beach 3rd round.... I had posted it on YouTube. 10 min mark of the video. I am hitting 220 up 40 feet. So I am trying to hit a 3 hybrid about 240. Ball speed on that club is about 145-150 if I really crush it. This shot had ball speed of 167. If you watch the video I apologise for the f bomb. The worse part is that the shot hit the cart path.....twice and ended up rolling down the hill over 300 yards. I was almost on the 7th green. I probably could have taken a rewind but I didn't. I really didn't think that 10% more ball speed warrants a rewind. Do GC2 users ever have this happen?
Yea its ALWAYS on a ball I felt i stuck perfectly. I always notice it happening more so with the irons then the woods, but that could just be that its more apparent with the precision shots. Ill be going for a green like 185 yards, I pure it with my 7 iron and then it goes like 220. I know I cant hit a 7 iron that far. I expect to see anywhere from 5800 to 7000 spin on a normal 7 iron shot, but when I check this shot its always in the 4000 and under range (usually well under). So I know where the distance is coming, but it should not be spinning that low. Ill take a rewind and hit the exact same shot and it will all of a sudden come out perfectly with the right spin and all.

Dont think I noticed as many crazy high ball speed numbers as it usually just crazy low backspin numbers.

Another weird thing is it always seems to cause a fade ball flight when it happens as well. Then after I rewind and hit it exactly the same again Ill get my draw on the next shot at the normal distance. I dont know many people who can hit fades further than their draw shots (especially 20+ yards further). Im sure those people are out there, but I have never been one of them. So not sure whats going on. I never see it happen to my dad when he comes over to play. So this leads me to believe its a higher swing speed thing or the way the ball is compressing on my clubs or something (and have tried with different clubs too and it still occurred).

Last thing to note is I actually noticed this thing occuring on my dads skytrak as well when I was at his house hitting. So i was really starting to think it was me and something weird with the way I was striking it, but seeing wbond and a few others say it has happened a tiny bit for them as well with their skytraks makes me wonder. Hopefully something will come up where I can pin point my its happening. Ill keep trying.

what if you try placing the ball logo facing the skytrak. I know it's not required but when I took my skytrak to the range, i saw the wrong shot shape multiple times. maybe it has trouble when the dimples are too uniform.

there are some here trying the truvis balls. I have some on the way. couldn't hurt.

I've been using MG Golf balls. Somebody around here recommended them (I think mthunt) and I love them. $19.99 per dozen and the spin numbers seem very similar to other high end balls I've used. With crappy balls they typically hit the ceiling in my room with wedges. Better balls don't get up and hit the ceiling and these are in that category.

The MG Golf Tour C4 Urethane Golf Ball Beats The Titleist® Pro V1 ("the #1 Ball in Golf®,") and Does It for over 50% Less!

Great company. Try their golf gloves if you haven't already. $16-$17 after shipping for 2 gloves and they are the same quality as the cabretta leather gloves on the market that cost $20 per glove.
