Guys I had to rewind twice on the same shot reading zero back spin on chip so I shut down TGC/Skytrak. After restart it screwed me over keeping me at the spot of the misread😡😡😡😡😩😩😩😩😩 cost me one stroke. Well anyway I'm glad I got the tournament in I thought I was going to be on the road working. Great course just back shooting by me lol 10 over won't win much around here. 😂😂

Well, highly irritated. According to this i've played 35 events. In that time, i've had two rewinds and they occurred in my first few events. The first one happened on a gigantic green, hit the ball into a 6 foot high slope and rolled back over 20 yards and I didn't realize i was still on the green and hit a wedge. The problem was it read the LA, and BS, but didn't have any spin and shot across like it landed on ice. The second happened when i dropped a ball onto another ball that was sitting near the laser dot, it registered as a shot and went like 2'.

Anyway, get to playing tonight and I have 91 yards to pin, hit 54 degree wedge, ball lands and shoots across green. So i check the green and it is not sloped to back so I look at the reading and it had the shot as spinning at 2428. It is shot 62 in my chart. Hit same shot again at shot 63 and it spins at 7295. Almost identical numbers for BS, HA and LA. Big difference on where shot finished.

Next I'm at 20 yards and hit a 58 degree wedge that shoots across green again. No slope and sure enough it reads at 1208 back spin, no SA, no SS. Short chip correction(or whatever it's called) is on, and from what I recall once it says 20 yards, that is no longer in affect. IS THIS CORRECT? So thoroughly pissed at this point, hit another and chunked it but reads 1945 back spin and comes up short. Interestingly, according to the shot matrix it says I was at 19 yards, however it ABSOLUTELY said 20 yards on the screen. How are we supposed to know when short chip correction is actually ON? These were shots 70 and 71.

Now on 18, i have 155 yards and hit seven iron. Shot lands and flies across green again, and this time it reads at 3302 back spin. I did NOT take a rewind. I was just too pissed at this point. This was shot 74.

So I used only two rewinds in the first 35 events and end up with two tonight. Not happy.

I don't know what's up but i seemed to have an issue reading spin tonight. 8 Iron spun at 5194 shot 54, 9 iron at 6195 shot 48, 7 iron at 3355 shot 28, 8 iron at 4052 shot 20. I did use brand new Kirkland balls tonight which i haven't used in sim rounds before, so I don't know if that's it, but i will be going back to other balls for sure from now. I use these IRL and they hold greens without any issue. Plus you can read the mygolfspy comparison to the ProV1 and compare their spin readings.

Also had a 4 putt to boot and three putted from 8'.

BTW, WTF is up with the pin on 16. Ball almost comes to a stop while putting and then it rolls down the slope 12' away. UGH!!

I bought a bunch of Kirkland balls as well. I'm a high handicapper so I can't really say if I noticed a difference or not during the last tourny. I'll keep an eye out this tourny. I didn't play as well last go around but I'm working on some minor swing adjustments.

I feel your pain I still want to know how a LW can go 145 yards on a 70 yard shot, lighten shot a little then it goes 50 yards. I am gonna practice this course tonight for safety.

I've been using nothing but Kirkland balls for 2 weeks now with my Skytrak. There's no issue with them, they work great. I honestly think something screwy was going on tonight because I had 2 or 3 crazy misreads in a row in TGC when I was warming up. I've only had one putting misread before tonight over my last 100 holes or so. I restarted TGC and didn't have any in my tournament round. It's almost like it was TGC temporarily going haywire.

I had a crazy misread last tournament. Hit a 56 foot putt that went 167 yards. Had to reset the computer and Skytrak. Thank goodness it was only a practice round.

Well I didn't HAVE to rewind any shots tonight, but sure wish I COULD have :-). Once again have a great round going and then absolutely melt down on the last few holes. At some point I'm going to have to find a way to get up that mental mountain and start down the backside instead of tumbling backwards. My short game was ATROCIOUS tonight. I can definitely think of six shots I lost just around the green because I couldn't leave the ball within six foot of the cup. I did luck a hole out from 20 yards. That was comical.

On a positive I'm not sure if I've ever had enough control over my driver that when I wanted a fade I hit a fade and when I wanted a draw I hit a draw. It was amazing tonight. Now I may not have had a LOT of FIRs tonight, but I wasn't missing by much. Only really bad drive was on a hole near the clubhouse or a house. Got to the tee and it said 9 iron and the hole was like 380-400 some I can't remember. I thought well that's stupid. Switched the club to driver and proceeded to smack it 257 and nearly hit the house. Ended up behind a bush and thought hmmmmmm that's why it said 9 iron :-).

Shouldn't complain about a 76 but boy it could have easily been 70-72 tonight. Not going to play round 2 tonight though. Wait until probably Thursday. Happy shooting everyone!

Sounds very familiar to the misreads I get on average of once or twice a round. Its usually on a shot I pure and just ends up going like 20 yards further then I should be able to hit it and its always like 3000+ less spin than the shot should have. Havent really overly tested it and cant really pin point whats causing it because I cant recreate it when I want to. But it sounds like you were getting the same thing.

Let me know if you find any remedy for it. It never used to happen when I first got my skytrak and only started in the last 3 months or so. It has gone away for like 6 or 7 rounds for me at times, but always pops up again randomly right when I start to think it fixed itself. Ill let you know if I ever find any reason/fix for it as well

Iron...... so this shot that goes 20 yards further than you are able to hit that club in real life....... Is it always a very well struck ball? Here's the weird part. CKLguy and I have had the same issue. The 3 of us have different sims. ProTee, GSA, ST. For me, it's about 1 in 300-450 shots so not really a big deal. The last one I remember on the tour was at pebble beach 3rd round.... I had posted it on YouTube. 10 min mark of the video. I am hitting 220 up 40 feet. So I am trying to hit a 3 hybrid about 240. Ball speed on that club is about 145-150 if I really crush it. This shot had ball speed of 167. If you watch the video I apologise for the f bomb. The worse part is that the shot hit the cart path.....twice and ended up rolling down the hill over 300 yards. I was almost on the 7th green. I probably could have taken a rewind but I didn't. I really didn't think that 10% more ball speed warrants a rewind. Do GC2 users ever have this happen?

Nice round..... my 10 year old sometimes watches...... It's funny when she is yelling BITE,BITE. I once chipped one over the green. She walked away shaking her head saying..... I don't know what you were thinking there.

Great comments about your kids. I love playing with my kids. My son is old enough to play the SkyTrak, but my 5 yo daughter plays mostly IRL with me, although she has hit on the SkyTrak a few times and gets furious when it doesn't read her shot :-).

Finished up round two tonight and chipping was only marginally better. Cost me a few shots. Hit one really poor putt that cost me a couple of shots and finished with a 77. On to next week.

I had an interesting round. The standing water next to the fairway on one of the first handful of holes was a joke. I was penalized a stroke as if I hit it into a pond.

Another interesting note: I cracked the cover of a golf ball. This is the first time I've noticed that happening. I have no idea how long it was cracked before I noticed it.

some are very hard to find, but the shot results stand out right away, especially on driver.

My refurbed pro-v (I'm cheap @ $30 for 2 dozen) balls do it often. Next time I drive by a Costco I'm gonna snag a box of the Kirkland balls and see if they are really as good as the reviews. Anybody try em yet?

I've cracked a couple of balls. I think one was snell and one was a bridgestone B-330S. And the first time I hit several swings before I noticed it :-).

Been playing them for a month now. Tested them against Pro V1x on my Skytrak. The golf spy comparison is spot on, they perform just like a Pro V.

That really is a shame, because they are a game changer in terms of performance and price correlation. You can't even get them in the U.S. at the moment though, they're sold out for the foreseeable future due to the initial demand. They're selling for $60 per box on ebay (each box contains 24 balls) right now, which is double the retail price. I would offer to buy you some when they come back in stock but I'm guessing the cost of shipping to Canada would kind of kill the deal for you. But even if you were to end up paying $30 per dozen, it's still a good deal in my opinion if you compare that price to buying used Pro V1's that have likely been sitting in the bottom of a pond. $15 a dozen is almost like stealing.
