I have been think about it and it is on my list. My plan is to use 1/8 lexan and possibly bend it so that it mounts on top of the unit and then comes down and back to cover the cameras. There was someone on the FB group that just bungie corded a piece directly to the unit and had no issues with the unit still reading shots.

Same place as you, have skytrak. Looking at VX and would probably build a plexi glass parallel to the unit an inch or 2 away. I don't know about bending the plexiglas as that could mess up readings IMO.

I'm interested in any ideas or solutions people come up with, as I just ordered my VX today and expect it in the next 2 weeks. I was thinking about some kind of metal cage like the below, perhaps by just angling it from the ceiling. But like the idea of lexan or plexiglass.

Or use this rodent cage, after removing all the stuff attached to it (the open ended cage enclosure is 32x12x12.5 inches, the protee VX looks to be 32.6x7.9x6.7inches - so pretty close).

I'm curious to see what people come up with. Famous last words I'm sure, but I'm not worried about hitting the VX at the angle where it sits. It would take a pure sky ball off the top of the club. That said, I do get a little nervous with my kids and have been making them use lower tees when hitting woods.

Originally I was only concerned about my kids. Now when I start working on “hitting up” on the driver and try using tall tees, I am even worried about myself. Even though I am a pretty good golfer, crazy shots can happen.

I'm a be prepared for anything kind of guy and it's possible but it would be super hard to hit. It would take a driver teed a mile high and major sky.

Wont these get in the way of the cameras seeing the ball?

Fairly expensive. I was thinking of placing a laminated glass below the unit [if I get one that is :-) ]. WOuld that interfere with the cameras?

I have ordered a VX now and ordered cogolfengineer protective covers,

When I get then I will post back will take some time to get set up.

Played at a friend's house last night and 2 guys hit his protected projector @ 6500 I want some protection.

I also want to mention that I emailed questions and Matt was very responsive!

He is super friendly and beyond easy to work with. Did you decide on the cover with the cutouts or without? I use a fixed tee at like 1-3/4" and unless someone tries to use it for a wood you could never sky a ball that would hit the unit. Still that cover is short money compared to what I would assume a costly fix if one of the camera pods gets damaged. Please give feedback and pics when you get it.

I went with no cutouts. At this point I don't think anyone knows if the cover has an impact or not.
