  • TGC Help

I just purchased TGC for Skytrak, and I've had quite a hard time with the software (perhaps hardware issue) freezing for seemingly no reason. It seems to run very well most of the time, but then it will freeze after a shot and just never display the red dot again. Or if it does display the red dot it will take a really, really long time and the problem keeps persisting. Freezing also occurs often when skytrak moves into putting mode, or when switching back out of putting mode. If I choose to replay a shot, it freezes, if I restart the round it usually freezes as well. Also when I exit the game, and try to resume, it usually starts me at a different point then where I ended, usually the first hole.

I bought this pc specifically to run tgc... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has a gtx1060 and i7 series cpu, so that should be plenty of power right? I've ran at 1080p high settings, down to 480p low settings, and the issue remains.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

This would indicate there are some networking issues going on. When you continue a round and you start from a different point then TGC was not able to send the latest status info to the cloud servers.

This could be your local WIFI or your Internet connection. First you should try to play TGC in OFFLINE mode. See if you can play a round without any problems. From the main menu click on GO OFFLINE.

That seemed to fix the issues. Very strange, because I had it hardwired and I never notice any internet outages. Is it possible for me to join the tour while playing offline?

The next thing you should try is to setup a VPN on your simulator computer. Use the 30 trial of ExpressVPN.

This program will create a protected network "tunnel" between your simulator PC and a VPN server on the internet. It will bypass any kind of filtering, firewalling, you-name-it.

The VPN client program is very simple. Nothing to configure. It will find the fastest servers and connect when you click the big button.

Try playing TGC again online when this VPN is active.

What ProTee is recommending worked for me. Thankfully, after I and others made my cable provider aware I no longer need the VPN software. Whos is you cable provider - mine is time warner/spectrum

penrose I also have time warner spectrum and have to use the VPN to get it to work. What exactly did you tell them to get them to fix the problem? I'm using their router strictly as a modem and they claimed there was nothing they could change when I called them.
