Updated 12/26/14 Latest beta interface: Remember to always install new interface by right click, then Run as Administrator. Latest interface available from ProTee
With these new wedge settings, the ProTee's short game is very good now and feels more natural compared to before. No more strange shots that go 30 yards over the green. Flops shot are good but might need a little more tweaking.
With the new interface does it not use the cameras for chip shots? I'm getting a lot of shots where it's not using the launch angles. But when I check the cameras and hit pitch/chip shots they pick up the launch angles just fine.
EDIT: Nevermind. I fixed it. I accidentally hit the Factory Defaults button a few days ago and I think this issue started then. Looked like all the settings were right for it to use the cameras in pitching & chipping, though. I grabbed a settings file from one of my other sims and overwrote the one on the one with issues and it's fine now.
I have read this twice and I cannot seem to find the settings that need to be adjusted to correct the Flying lob wedges. My lobs are going 125-135 around the green, They should be 70-75 yards. I am on 3.06 interface. What do I need to change in the settings? A couple of posts above VanceV and Bubba say the settings are very good. What settings am I to adjust?? This only happens when I am hitting full lob wedges. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try booking an online help session with ProTee. Sounds like you've really screwed up your settings, (based on your other post, as well, with all the customization...).
ProTee is very good on support.
Even with those settings you'll still get that error with any club that has 60 degrees or more loft. I recommend not using anything higher than a 56 degree wedge. Even then you'll still get those rogue shots that go 50+ yards too far. It's just something that happens with ProTee hardware. They don't have a fix for it. It's an issue on all 4 of my ProTee systems. It mostly happens when you hit a shot a bit fat with a wedge.
Yes one of the limitations of Protee I'm afraid, on very high lofted shots the club typically passes the ball, and my understanding is that the system struggles to read the correct one. I also agree with Richard in that lower lofted shots don't seem to suffer the same fate. This for me is one of the main reasons why and affordable LM in conjunction with the PT system would be great, giving us both proper ball data and club head data.
Yeah. I'd love it if the sensor mat was only used for club data and the cameras took care of all the ball data. That wouldn't happen without some serious upgrades to the cameras though.
I opened a ticket with ProTee for this. Here is their answer. I would imagine you could increase the distance for pitches to coinside with this. Ball tracking is what the vcam is doing so I would imagine club head speed and ables would determine but I havent had the chance to try it. BTW, after a remote session where they had me hit 7 irons and drivers, I asked if I could try wedge flop because it went out of the field of vision in that diagional line for the camera. They quickly turned around a fix that is in version e they just put out that takes that away and I hit as much as 60 degree launch angle and it picked it up easily in the FOV. For some the wedges will go to far and for others its ok.
It depends on your stance. Parts of your body (and or hands) might go over the sensors during the swing and be confused for ball / club. You can try making some adjustments in the settings file (ALT-E). For example not to use the ball tracking for ball speed. Chipping_ballspeed_factor=65
Chipping_minimum_launch_angle=1
Chipping_use_clubspeed=True Pitching_ballspeed_factor=75
Pitching_minimum_launch_angle=1
Pitching_use_clubspeed=True
I have had issues with wedges, as have a lot of ProTee sensor users I suspect. One thing that I am starting to pay more attention to is specifying the shot type in TGC - ie. normal, chip, flop for wedges. Not sure if this will help to alleviate the problems, but yesterday it 'seemed' better, though I did have some wedge shots that definitely sailed too far.
