Has anyone had an issue of your iPad wifi settings failing to find your skytrak device? The other day, I spent almost an hour rebooting iPad, home wifi router, skytrak app just to get the thing to show up under wifi options. Unfortunately, I had a 45 min window to go hit balls while the wife to the kid to swim lessons.
Also, can anyone comment of losing data around the time of the update? I did a nice iron gapping session and immediately followed that up with the new firmware update. That session's data has been missing from my iPad and the skytrak website despite syncing.

You shouldn't be losing data, but with an update, you typically need to sign back into the app. If you were not logged in at the time of that session, then it wouldn't have anywhere to save. Just a thought.

SkyTrak_Seth The data was there at end of session and gone after update. I had intended to email the data to myself but sent the wrong session info. When I logged back in after the update, it was gone.
Second question, when I hit in standard driving range mode and select "new session" between clubs, should it save each session independently? I seem to only be able to find the first set of data of that entire time on the device.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm actually looking into the second part of that now. Someone else had flagged that question as well.

I've had to go back to USB connection due to wifi difficulties after the latest update. I'm also having no reads and misreads now that I did not have before.
i had to reboot everything yesterday as it took me three tries on every shot to get a correct read. The mis reads were crazy :- Well hit drive went 2 yards, 20 yard chip went 95 yards and 90 yard chip with 56 degree wedge went 195 yards. I wish I had never uploaded the new version.

Well, after 25 days since updating to FW 1.55 & V2.5.4, I've finally got all my data back to all devices. Happy Days ;-0
The only problem now is I keep being asked to sign in. Not everytime, but at least one in three logins.

How? Did SkyGolf/SkyTrak made some fixes in the back-end to fix the sync issues?
-
They made a few changes to the wifi setup process an for the syncing process but it appears inadvertently messed up something along the way as I personally am experiencing a ton of no reads, the system dropping its connection to the network and the worst of it is that I find if you putt from the fringe on TGC the entire system seems to require a reboot. I too have asked for the older version of software/firmware to be but back up as the TGC and Skytrak is close to being unusable. I did try the patch from Skytrak but that didn't solve the no reads, disconnects and system crashes.
I'm sure they will sort it out but going forward I will keep the executables they send out so I can revert back in the case of what we are seeing with this update.

Does anyone know if SkyTrak have commented on the connection issues that people are having after installing the latest update.
im wondering if they have acknowledged that a problem exists or if they believe that the issues are user computer/internet problems.

I have messaged SkyTrak_Seth about the patch not fixing the connection issues however there has been no response as of yet. I would bet they're working on a fix it patch.
-
Hey guys, just to let you know, we did create a patch late last week that worked to a point but still didn't fully resolve the sync issue. Either late Friday or over the weekend, the back-end team put a fix in place on the server side that addressed the sync issue. So the patch I sent to many of you is not needed now.
The connection issue with TGC is being worked on with TGC. WGT and JPNG are updating as well. Just FYI, TGC or JNPG will probably be the first to roll out an update.

SkyTrak_Seth What about the problem with not being able to connect in network mode anymore? I'm assuming this is separate from the sync issue and I know it's not isolated to TGC.

That's a new one. I and many don't have any issue connecting in network mode. A few things to try...Originally posted by jrz View PostSkyTrak_Seth What about the problem with not being able to connect in network mode anymore? 1) When you program the credentials to the unit, does the middle light start to flash red, then yellow, then go solid yellow? If so, then it connected to your network (make sure to go back to your iPad wi-fi settings and connect to that same network)
2) Is it a guest network?
3) Does your network have an IP address of 10.0.0.1?
Aside from those questions, we haven't changed anything in the unit's ability to connect to the software in network mode.

I very much disagree that this is a "new one" and many people aren't having problems connecting via network mode since the new update. Please go back and read through this thread and you'll see that many people have had to go back to USB mode and have started experiencing many problems with unregistered shots since the last update.
I've had my SkyTrak set up for over a year and a half, 90% of that time it has been on network mode. It's not a guest network and it's not a self assigned IP address. Since the update it doesn't see any networks when going through the network wizard. The middle light goes to red.
-
The middle light on my unit flashes red a few times then just goes to solid red. I have tried to go through the process of going on to wifi on the new interface unsuccessfully even though I had no problem doing this immediately after the new update was installed. USB is my only option now and I'm even losing the USB connection occasionally when I'm playing in TGC. SkyTrak range has been working fine in USB mode.
-
Since I've updated network mode has been a nightmare on PC and iOS ,

I'm having some weird ball flights and wild shots since updating firmware.....something I had never seen before. Anybody else seeing this?

In sim or just on skytrak? I do not have sim setup yet, so using only the skytrak range/game improvement in which I have not had any problem with reading the shots or ball flights being off
-
DougieMn, see quote #50 above. This has only happened to me on 2 different occasions and both times I was playing TGC. I have played TGC about 20 times since the last crazy reads with no problems (Other than I still cant get into WIFI mode).

My bad. What I mean by wild is that I'm a drawer sometimes nasty hook. Every once in awhile I will get a nasty slice that goes straight up in the air. I can feel if my hit would produce that and it was exactly like all the other hooks. When I mean straight up in the air I'm talking a driver that goes 100 yards......straight up!
