    1) When you program the credentials to the unit, does the middle light start to flash red, then yellow, then go solid yellow? If so, then it connected to your network (make sure to go back to your iPad wi-fi settings and connect to that same network)
    2) Is it a guest network?
    3) Does your network have an IP address of 10.0.0.1?

Aside from those questions, we haven't changed anything in the unit's ability to connect to the software in network mode.

I reset my Skytrak device and once again can confirm with the latest patch getting the system into network mode took me 8 attempts.

TGC play has become more frustrating than enjoyable. Tons and tons of no reads making tournament play useless. Putts are the worst with 7 out of 10 not reading. At this point 3 out of 10 shots are not being registered with my hybrids.

SkyTrak_Seth and ProTee United please get together and acknowledge this last update of firmware by Skytrak has given us with TGC nothing but headaches. The 2 systems were working damn near perfectly together but now it's really hit an all time low and someone needs to get this resolved.

And before someone says it's just my setup I know for a fact its not true since I was recently in Florida and immediately after the Skytrak update my fathers setup started doing the same thing.

    HELP!!!!!!

We've acknowledged the issue in several threads. We are both working to get TGC back on track with the latest SDK as fast as possible.

Sorry, Seth - a couple of days ago you said something along the lines of "this is a new one to us" regarding the network mode issues, even though there have been many comments and even a separate thread on the issue.

Just wanted to acknowledge some funny issue with skytrak and tcg. Getting a lot of pitch shots and putts going way left or right. At first thought it was me since I am a bogey golfer but last night had multiple hits go way right or left after my golf ball hits the center screen. Lost a lot of pars in the tourney.

Rewinded some shots in tcg tourney play but held back on most shots since didn't want to give impression of cheating.

I guess the bright side I know I am improving to the point to where I know my shot should look like.
      My courses:
      Aldeen
      Butler National
      Cantigny
      Canyata
      Cog Hill #4
      Harbor Shores
      Harborside
      Naperville Country Club
      Prairie Landing
      Rich Harvest Farms
      Ruffled Feathers

Long time looker, first time poster here. Just got my SkyTrak after reading all the positives...and negatives. I figured "what the hell". Step up was a breeze. Quickly found my WIFI network and connected within the PC app. I used it for about 20 minutes, shot after shot. Then all of a sudden, it disconnected. Lights showed Bottom to Top..green, solid yellow, solid red. Reading my book this means its connected to a wifi network, wait connection to app. So I closed and reopened the app. Would not reconnect, Then I turned off unit, closed app for 30 seconds or so. Turn on unit, waited for solid yellow middle light. Opened app and it connects. Now I get to hit two shots and the same thing.....I do the same reset...again, successful connect, 2 or 3 shots..disconnects again. I did this for 2 or 3 more times and said screw it. I never had the old app/patch so I have no idea if it was better...but right now, this 2K I just spent is worthless. Unbelievable. I'm hoping something gets fixed ASAP, because when I was able to practice at first for 20 minutes or so, it was excellent. Drives, soft chips, long irons.....

This is totally a guess, but is it possible your iPad is hopping over to a different network? Like you have the SkyTrak connected to the 2.4Ghz and the iPad is hopping between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz? Can you try putting the unit back to direct mode (if you can't connect in the app to do this, insert a paperclip into bottom hole for 10 seconds - until all lights turn yellow). Does this disconnection happen in direct mode as well?

Its the PC version, not IPAD if that makes a difference...but, when it does do it I check my computer and its still on the correct network....I live in the middle of nowhere, so no other networks are even found. When I first connected and everything was fine for that first 20 minutes or so, the time lag on the system as only a couple seconds. Now its like 15 - 20 seconds...so real real slow. Full signal on my computer. Don't know how to check the SkyTrak. I will try direct mode tonight to see if I have same issue. I will also try to force the computer to only use 2.4

mine was doing the same thing in network mode. i plugged it in via usb and it has done it less but still has now since the update. i minimize tgc and have found the tgc skytrak interface has to be restarted. I connect that and the box connects and works. Same as everyone else, this didnt happen until after the last update.

I agree. Mine being brand new, I have no idea if the new patch caused this issue or if its something else. If I (or anyone else) could just install the previous one, we would know for sure.

Not possible with firmware on anything, and not possible with Apple on software. I believe things are beginning to get ironed out.

I have noticed an occasional drop in TGC using Network mode since the update. I have never noticed that before. Yesterday I had major issues with it dropping out of network mode, along with HUGE delay times from the time I hit my shot, (laser would go out then come back on), before it would show in the screen. I finally realized that my wife was using our microwave at that time. For some reason, the microwave interferes with the damn WIFI signal!

However, the "other" occasional drops since the update occurred when I was home alone, so no one was using the microwave. In those instances, I had to close completely out of TGC, restart the SkyTrak, and then reopen TGC in order to re-establish connection. I do not play every day, so I will say this has happened 2-3 times since the update, and using Network connection. I have not gone back to see if a direct USB connection eliminates it, as I had issues with missed shots in USB mode, and rarely had a missed shot when I switched to Network mode (before the update), except for really bad mishits.

I'll just say, I use skytrack almost exclusively in direct mode. I've literally never had an issue losing connection. Not once.

I thought about that too after I stopped for the night..but can you still use TGC/JNPG in direct mode? I thought you needed an Internet connection to use and direct mode says Internet is not available. Granted, I don't have either of these products yet, but that is the plan. Thanks!

I do it this way, I have two wifi adapters. One for skytrak and one for my wifi network. I did it this way as my simulator is out in my shop and signal is not great. Reading the problems other people have had, I wouldn't do it any other way. It's only like $10 for an extra wifi adapter on amazon.

Played a round of the WGC Mexico Championship and my ST dropped wifi connection with my PC 15 times. Before the update, I rarely had a wifi drop but since the update, I've had an average of 5 drops per round. So many more today, so I had to post. Nothing has changed in my setup from before the update to 2.5.4. I have no sync issues with my shots to the ST page. Just driving me crazy since I am having to reset and can't get in a groove. SkyTrak_Seth - is this a ST issue with the update and integration with TGC? Patch? Thanks!

My skytrak worked without issue for 1.5 years, but now my skytrak connects to my wifi network (red yellow green) then conects to the skytrak app and the lights go red green green (top down). The change to green green green with laser no longer occurs. This happens with USB mode, pc software, ios app, and TGC. So frustrated, I could scream.

I have reset my skytrak multiple times. One time it briefly started working again with pc software then stopped again.

Either my skytrak coincidently kicked the bucket or the recent update did some egregious harm.

            sigh

Seems you are not the only one..this whole thread is almost everyones unit now is unplayable after the update..and as mentioned above, SkyTrak should post the older version out there for us to try to see if it was indeed the update. Seems they don't even want to give us that option to help us that can't even use the thing. i'm going to try the dual wireless as mentioned earlier...just ordered another wifi adapter from amazon for 12 bucks, then I will try the direct mode, and use the other adapter for internet. For 12 bucks I figured it was worth the try.

For clarity, my issue occurs in all three modes: usb mode, direct mode, and wifi network mode.

As I mentioned I have 2 of the units that both started acting funky immediately after the last update. I'm convinced the latest firmware sent the Skytrak into almost unusable state. Many others have reported the same issues and Skytrak stated they are working with Protee on getting the SDK fixed. All we can do is wait.

I have added a second wireless adapter to my PC so I can connect to the SkyTrak in direct mode and still play TGC.

I've also noticed that even with the more reliable setup described above there is another symptom of this release that I have seen quite a bit. Usually with low iron approach shots, when the ball is hit well, the ST will register the shot as a chip and give me 1000 RPM backspin and no sidespin. It almost looks like a normal shot but doesn't float in the air and runs like crazy across the green. This seems to be isolated to TGC.

I also had a crazy misread in TGC where the ball was hit well but it rendered as kind of a shank. I've only seen this once, though, so I wouldn't just yet call this a 2.5.4 problem.

SkyTrak_Seth Seth - please give us access to the beta of the new release. 2.5.4 has been a nightmare.

v2.5.4 has nothing to do with TGC in itself. Again, it's the firmware update that came with v2.5.4 that is affecting TGC. By now I'm sure you've seen that TGC has updated their SDK, so that should solve that issue. I will post a new thread for SkyTrak app-related network mode issues because it is getting too hard to track over several threads.

I am having the same connection issues with JNPG it will read a shot then it will just freeze for a minute and then drop connection. I am also getting a lot more miss reads. Chips are shooting left on me more frequently. Im not sure if its me or the skytrak but i have also noticed an excessive drop in back spin on my irons using the same ball and clubs.

I also have been having issues with wifi drops since the update. Only using skytrak range with PC not iPad, switched to direct mode for better connection but today after hitting one shot on range, unit locked up twice in a row. After shot, top light turned red, shot registered on screen, unit would not return to the the tee for next shot. First time I turned skytrak unit off n on, then next shot locked up again. This time I closed down program, reloaded and logged back in and it worked fine for the rest of my session

Another issue, EVERY PROGRAM START REQUIRES ME TO LOGIN. THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND NEVER HAPPENED WITH THE PRIOR VERSION. Yes I am checking "remember me" on every login. This release scares me as a new user, this was a minor software change according to skytrak, I hate to see what issues pop up with a major revamp.

Yes! Having to login overtime sucks. Thing is I think i'm already logged in as i get the laser dot before i even type in my password usually.

I am logged on every time I start the app...have never had to re-sign on. Now, I did register with this newest install, I never upgraded. Don't know if that is an issue.

The login bug fix is coming (fyi you don't need to be logged in to get the laser dot). But definitely still interested in hearing how things are with the lockup since it happened...have not heard of that before.

Just an update. Got my second wireless adapter as suggested above. Connected direct and practiced all night without a single disconnect. Didn't read a couple drives until i learned where to put the tee...then everything was great. Light low chips, high wedges, etc. This is only on the free driving range, haven't bought JNPG yet. Thank you for the suggestion!

Re: login issue. I chatted today with skytrak support they said uninstall and reinstall software, I had upgraded before not a full clean reinstall. I should have done that earlier as I know that is a common troubleshooting solution but didn't. It will be a few days before I can try it.

and by the way why does skytrak not have an email address for support. All I can find is chat or telephone. Not very convenient when u play primarily evenings n weekends and encounter issues. I don't care if they don't respond till normal business hours just so I could get the issue in front of them when it happens. I will wait for a response whenever. In this day and age an email support address seems required.

CoBoz brnixon. Can you identify the wifi adapters u reference and advise how these are utilized. My understanding of wifi adapters is to add wifi capability to devices that don't have same. And how would you use on a skytrak. Do u plug into skytrak mini USB port. Apologize for my ignorance here but I have wifi issues in my garage and tried an extender (not adaptor) which works sometimes but not reliably.

                  thanks

Go to Amazon and search for "USB WIFI adapter". These are adapters you plug into a USB port on your computer. When you open up network connections, you will have 2 WIFI adapters installed. You can then set one to always connect to Skytrak (using direct mode). When in Direct mode, SKytrak shows up in your wireless network list to connect to. Then you set the other to connect to your home wireless. You can buy some with antennas that might "extend" your range. The one I bought has the same signal strength with my home wireless in the basement. Hope this helps.

Also, if you have your skytrak to connect to your home network, you will probably need to reset it on the bottom to erase your settings. Otherwise it will continue to connect to your home network. When you have reset it, it will try to connect to network and then have top two lights red. At this point, you should be able to click on your wireless network adapter and see the skytrak as a network option. Connect to this using the extra wifi adapter and then you are good to go. You should be able to see the wireless adapters and available connections on the lower right of your PC window where the time shows.
                Working...
