Anyone else having a lot of misreads lately? It seems like it misses 100% of the balls that I feel were well struck and picks up all the other shots. I am using a swing speed radar next to the Skytrak and it seems when my 7-iron hits 95-100+ mph (actual speed is probably lower but just using the radar for reference) on the radar the Skytrak doesn't pick up the shot. The top red light goes on like it's going to send the shot but then turns back to green. I don't remember it being this bad prior to the update.

New to skytrak but I also have lots of misreads/no reads.... id say 3 of 10 doesn't read. the laser turns off like it knows there was a shot, but I guess it cannot calculate it. -
Yep mine is missing about the same amount about 3 out of 10 shots as well. What I don't understand is why it misses every good shot, I mean it has missed 100% of the shots that I felt was pure. I rolled the software back to 3.1.0 and it was still missing some but it managed to pick up some of the pure shots. At this point I'm not sure if it's something wrong with my unit or what but I only had it for 2 weeks and am thinking if I should return it or ask for a replacement.Originally posted by rook514 View PostComment

After updating to v3.1.1, I'm suddenly getting tons of no-reads too (i.e., 10+ consecutive no-reads - after each hit laser dot just comes back and no shot is recorded). SkyTrak_Seth said it might be a network-related problem and to try direct mode to see if getting no-reads there as well.Comment

I tried direct and network and both are missing the same amount of shots, I even have some that don't read at all where the top light never turns to red but most do turn red and nothing is sent.Originally posted by doublebogey View PostComment

I was experiencing something similar... what was happening is the LEDs were alternating randomly from GGG to RGG - whether I'd hit a shot or not. This problem was considerably worse after installing the FMJ. I'm not sure if this is consistent with your issues but they might be related. Anyhow, after some research on this forum and other resources, I greatly improved the problem with a couple a modifications. Here are a couple other things to try:
Move the router closer to the Skytrak. I had an old DIR-655 router lying around, so I ran an ethernet cable to a few feet away from my hitting bay. Not only did it it fix the issue, but now I also have a dedicated channel for the Skytrak. If you're going to go this route, make sure it's a 2.4ghz channel router... as Skytrak won't pick up a 5 ghz band.
The other thing you might try as a troubleshooting tactic is to remove the FMJ (assuming you're using one, as most people seem to). If taking that off improves the problem, then you know the case is weakening the signal somehow.
Lastly it should be noted that I just received my unit this week... so I don't have any experience with older versions of the software.

Yes like yours, my goes from GGG to RGG back to GGG w/o picking up a shot after like 10+ consecutive hits after v3.1.1. update. I use FMJ but that doesn't explain mis-reads when using in direct mode like jskd82 above?

The FMJ protector could very well be acting as somewhat of a Faraday Cage. Try moving the w-routers to the non-covered side. If not possible, some routers have a signal strength setting to up the wattage from the antennas.Comment

Having a router as close to the skytrak unit is the best thing you can do for trouble free playing. My problem with updating the software is after the upgrade I always have to retype my password and click the remember check box. Do others have this issue?Comment

Same here with misreads, they would come in spurts yesterday. Played 27 holes on JNPG and had quite a bit of misreads. Less on practice mode, more on JNPG but happened on both.
My observations:
My network hasn't changed, I have an access point installed in the ceiling approximately 30 feet from Sky Trak. Not really sure how network problems would start after I upgraded Sky Trak software.
I use practice mode over my wifi network on my PC (not direct mode on an iPad), same with JNPG.
Lob shots don't read at all (like 0 out of 10), not sure if this was before or after the upgrade. We happened to need to do alot of lob shots yesterday during our rounds.
I was running the 3.1 beta and it was much more consistent.
Question: When I upgrade the software on my PC to 3.1.1, does that initiate an upgrade on the device as well? I would have expected to only see these issues on the Sky Trak software, but it was really bad when I was using JNPG.Comment

I had the same problem the other night. This is the first time I've had problems with misreads since I got the Skytrak.
The last two updates have really screwed up my practice sessions. The 3.1 update has made my tablet unusable since it crashes every time I start a practice session. Now I have to use my phone which is much harder to see. I used to get a misread every 40-50 shots now with 3.1.1 I am getting 4 or 5 misreads for every shot.
I am so frustrated I didn't even use it last night. Hopefully, tonight will be better.Comment
