  • What's next for skytrak

Is there any info out there for what's next for skytrak? Whether it be software update features or even new hardware or hardware add-ons?

I’m liking a lot of the new features. Hadn’t used the app since 3.1. Use it for the first time tonight with the new software. I like what has been done. Nice seeing the peak height on the side.

well they did have a club data beat version at one stage... cant wait for that to come back... even if it is a "guess" and not club tracking... its still very helpful to see it all on the screen.
the only thing that i hate about the skytrak is the micro USB... a normal USB would have been much better IMO for longevity / stability

I would like to see an ethernet port added to the device. WiFI is great but there is nothing better then hard wire. In the software they should add some non-golfer games like object that you can hit to explode. Click on landing areas that can make 21 or a poker hand, putting green.

I’ve asked before but I’ll try again given it seems this should be pretty easy.

I’d like the ability to aim on the Skytrak app range so my draw can start right of target in the app but I can still aim straight at the Center of my net. For TGC I move the target slightly right and my draw ends up on target. In the Skytrak app the practice greens are largely useless as to hit them I have to hit balls to the right side of my net (which is close to the wall so psychologically I often hit pulls back to the middle of my net and I feel it hurts my setting up square practice that hitting at the centre of my net accomplishes). I prefer the Skytrak range over using a TGC range except for this one missing feature.

it also makes the data harder to interpret simply aiming my body right as everything looks like a big push numerically so it’s hard to discern between an actual push or an alignment issue compared to being square.

You can offset the range. (Unless im misunderstanding what you are looking for) If you go into where you change the camera view from first person, to follow the ball (or whatever the options are), the last option allows you to offset the center line of the range. Im still clearing space in my sim room so at the moment my mat and skytrak is lined up to the right of the screen. I can just move the center line on the range to the right to line up with where im hitting to on my screen.

This isn't me, but you can see this guy has his range offset way to the right in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2adZR-xogNU

What I want to do is rotate the view not slide it if that makes sense. Like when I am standing at a shot in TGC and I use the aim arrow to target a bit right.

I hadn’t thought of tricking it by using the offset feature which could be a bandaid now that you say it. The reason I say bandaid is my ball draws with my irons but goes straight with woods (and my long irons draw less than my short irons) so constantly changing the offset seems clunky compared to knowing how many times to hit the right arrow when I change clubs but I will try it and see how it goes.

Circling back, offsetting the range didn’t work and my optimism hadn’t thought through it as the Skytrak/ball/aim hasn’t changed from centre in the softwares mind so even moving the offset to the extreme either way still means I launch “at the pin” then hook it left.

I really just want an aim feature like TGC (presumably any sim has this) to push right arrow and make my target for a straight shot right of the Skytrak pin so my draw comes back to centre. In a big sim area I get the just point your body right but this seems like it should be an easy add and I have seen others ask for similar. Right now the targets are basically useless to me. I prefer the Skytrak range to TGC except for this issue.

HMT device that can be attached to the Skytrak so we can have accurate club face data. The ability to change the color of the shot tracer, whenever it gets to about the 4th or 5th club the color is blue and it blends into the sky of the range and it's hard for this old guy to see the shot shape. Range games and incorporating multiple players.
