Skytrak software update coming in a couple weeks.

According to their Twitter account we should expect the next software update in the coming weeks. They wouldn't spill the beans on what is in the update but that we will be very happy with it.

So maybe it'll include the calculated club head data that was in a earlier beta release?

Can't wait tho, hopefully it's chalk full of new goodies to play with.

Two things I'd like to see:

1) Combine the fairway and green. First you hit from the tee to the fairway then you hit from wherever your first shot went to the green.

2) In the skills assessment, show the distance from the pin that the shots end up. It does this in closest to the pin so should be able to in the skills assessment.

I'd like to see the ball physics when hitting the green be more realistic.

So instead of a wedge shot hitting a green and immediately spinning back, I'd like for it to take a hop of two and then spin back like in real life.

There are published research papers on the physics of roll out. Shouldnt be too hard to add. User enters green firmness, slope, and stimp.

A randomizer in the challenges play option would be cool. Instead of manually picking a distance, etc. a randomizer option selection button would do it for you.

TruGolf has released their new E6 Connect for other launch monitors, and claims they are waiting for SkyGolf to implement SkyTrak support.

SkyGolf has confirmed they are working on E6 Connect support, which will include more golf courses with the basic subscription.

Could this be in the next release???

I’ve had my unit for over 1.5 years and never had an issue with non reads up until about the last couple months. Now I get constant no reads especially on good well struck shots in which I can feel good ball compression—> I would say the SkyTrak misses at least 1 out of 2 (half) of the good compressed shots. Pisses me off to no end because those are the shots I was to have data points for. I don’t need data for the skulled shot, but it never misses those. Getting a little frustrated.

I've had mine for a few months, but I've experienced the same exact thing. It's like 75% of the time when I feel a great strike it doesn't read it.

Same here. SkyTrak should really look into these increased no-reads issues after last few releases.

That happened to me as well, and just recently. A couple of flushed shots that didn't read at all (usually longer irons), then something halfway skulled that it picks up. Frustrating. Haven't had the problem until just recently, and haven't changed (update i.e.) anything in setup or hardware. I do believe it may be within the hardware side of the unit and will most likely send it in for a checkout/tuneup.

I used to see negligible number of no-reads (i.e., significantly <10% and usually only on extremely high LA shots). Now I see more no-reads (I'd say ~10% but sometimes up to 20-30% and even on many well-struck driver shots recently).

Nowhere near that. I get maybe 1 no read per session which is normally 100+ balls and most of the time I don't get any. I do get some occasionally low spin readings on well struck shots but that's probably a couple per session and they are obvious as they tend to carry about 10-20% further than my usual carry distances.

Sounds like a hardware, lighting or setup issue. Just went through this. Had to have a flash board replaced. Works perfect now.

I for one would like to see Skytrak integrate the updated E6Golf Connect as well as a randomizer in the challenges portion of the Skytrak software.

Mine is 6 months old. But will agree with others here. I will pure a 7 iron and it just stares at me. I will skull it and then poof it will read that.

Most shots are not a problem for Skytrak. I'm seeing around 2-4% no reads. The problem comes when you use any club that picks the ball clean off the turf, like a long iron or hybrid. When that happens, the clubhead follows the ball too closely through the hitting zone. On those clubs I'm seeing 50% no reads on clean hit shots. Any shot where the club digs in to the turf, and slows down immediately, Skytrak captures just fine. It's most frustrating during simulated rounds. All the best hits are the ones that get missed.
