Thank you for your email regarding the invitation you received about purchasing Skytrak

We must apologize that our initial launch of Skytrak is within the USA and Canada only and it was not intentional to include people outside of this area at this time.

We will however be keeping your interest high on our list for when SkyTrak is released in Europe which we expect to Spring of 2015.

Thank you again for your interest and we will be in contact as soon as possible

    Best regards
If you want it just use a 3rd party logistic company like shipito. They give you a U.S. shipping address.

        • I was told that the first batch would ship today but after speaking to the rep it doesn't look like that will happen now 😏

Really, that would be ahead of schedule, cool hehe. Wonder if it will ship earlier than the 15th. Waiting patiently.

            • Lastest app still has a bug. Hope they fix it.

              • Sounds like we're getting close, 7-8 days left officially.

From previous comments, was I reading correctly that you guys were beta testing a PC version of the app? "On pc, the delay is about 1-2 seconds." Do you feel like it's good enough for release?

Out of curiosity, to understand how things work, I looked for patents from Rapsodo which I think is the company that makes these things:
An example embodiment includes an apparatus for monitoring launch parameters of an object. The apparatus includes a transmitter optical subassembly (TOSA), a receiver optical subassembly (ROSA), a processing unit, and a camera. The TOSA includes at least one laser source configured to transmit a laser sheet along an expected flight path of an object. The ROSA is configured to receive light reflected from the object. The processing unit is configured to estimate a velocity of the object based at least partially on the received light. The camera is configured to capture one or more images of the object at a time in which the object passes through a field of view of the camera according to the estimated velocity.

                • It works similar to the GC2 except for ball detection and trigger. The GC2 uses IR arrays to find and locate the ball within it's hitting zone. SkyTrak uses a fixed laser for ball detection.

The pc app that we have is a basic app just to show ball data and maintenance stuff. They're suppose to release a pc app that is similar to the iPad app.

                  • I assume the basic app is not going to be available for the general public?

I'd actually prefer to have that basic PC app to tide me over instead of having to shell out for an iPad just to use SkyTrak.

                    • Can't see why it they wouldn't include it for free. You need it to install new firmware. It just has ball data though. No 3D ball flight.

                      • I noticed something interesting today while loading up e6 for the first time. During the download I did notice some files with Skytrak. I guess things are moving along somewhat. Not sure why, but I also so some files with Foresight in the name?

                        • Yes, that file has been there for at least 2 years.

                          • Hello all,

We’ve been paying close attention to this thread for quite a while now and now that the press release has been issued, we can start to dispel some myths and answer some of your questions. I’ve combed through the entire thread again and I hope I’ve gotten everything:
                            1. Simulation Partners – This is undeniably the elephant in the room. Without sharing too much information, it is safe to say at this time that our SDK is not open source. However, if you can hold tight for a few more weeks, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the announcement of who we are partnering with in the golf simulation world.
                            2. Fake Testimonials – Yep, we goofed. When the site launched, the team mistakenly used testmonials from the website mockup. These were before the unit even left our doors for testing, but were placeholders to get the feel of the site right. We were unaware of the issue until another forum moderator alerted us. The quotes were removed immediately and replaced with the actual testimonials. Stay tuned over the next few weeks and you’ll get to see exactly where the testmonials came from.
                            3. Platforms – Products are typically launched on a single platform and expanded from there. Being a consumer-focused device, we opted for iOS. Since the range is in 3D, and the shot analysis takes some processing power, we had to limit to the iPad Air and iPad Mini2 (with retina). Fortunately, newer models of each were just released from Apple, so we doubled our compatibility. Please keep in mind that this is only for launch. We are currently looking to deploy on PC, Android, and possibly even earlier iPad models.
                            4. Can’t connect to home network at the same time on iPad– You can absolutely do this!
                            5. App needs work – The app in the store was simply to pass initial Apple approval testing and is extremely outdated. The real app will be available in the App store when units are shipped later this month.

User Gaeroo – please send me a private message about the issue with your coupon code. I’m very sorry that happened and will make sure you are taken care of.

Thanks for the engaging discussion and interest in SkyTrak. We look forward to getting this thing out there…even more than you do

                            Many thanks,
                            SkyTrak

                            • Thanks for the info Skytrak

Is the shipping date still the 15th as listed on the website or has that changed ?

                              Comment

                              • That is still what we are shooting for - I believe that date was chosen because it is the middle of the month, but it may be pushed to the 17th because the 15th falls on a Saturday.
