There is a Japanese document for the comparison of SkyTrak and Trackman on the web. http://sky-trak.com/pdf/s_t_compare_140315.pdf I don't know how reliable it is, but regarding the spin rate SkyTrak seems accurate. Apparently, it lacks data for long clubs. Hope there will be more comparisons against Flightscope or Trackman in the future.Originally posted by jacksonlui View PostThe spin on the skytrak is consistently higher, about 500-1000 with the hybrid and driver. I don't know if it's because of the plastic film, I highly doubt it. It's just taking a picture like the vector but probably at a higher resolution and speed. The vector produced results closer to my actuals (spin, shape, and distance).
Do the differences happen only on hybrid and driver? Other clubs?Last edited by Maverick; 12-08-2014, 09:52 PM.

Would you mind testing it without the plastic film to see if that makes a difference, since that's what's recommended in the manual? If no difference, can always put the plastic film back. Not quite sure if the plastic film is really protecting the lens since isn't the lens really inside the red plastic casing?Originally posted by jacksonlui View Postsorry, I didn't know about the screenshot thingy on the apple. I only bought the ipad air2 for skytrak. I like android so much more. My wife likes apple because it's pretty so she's the iOS user. Both probably uses the same flight model. I might have not properly aligned the skytrak, I just eyeballed it but I'm fairly confident it was parallel to the target but not necessarily leveled to the mat, it may be a few degrees tilted upwards. It would be good to be able to see the actual pictures being taken like the vector. I like being able to correct and check the data, makes me feel confident about the results. Why doesn't this thing have a ball optimizer. In fact why don't they port everything over from the vRange, That was an awesome piece of software.

I haven't hit anything other than a driver, hybrid, and 7i. I would trust a more scientific comparison between skytrak and trackman over my own experience. The numbers from that Japanese pdf shows the skytrak is on point.Originally posted by hks8888 View PostThere is a Japanese document for the comparison of SkyTrak and Trackman on the web. http://<a href="http://sky-trak.com/...140315.pdf</a> I don't know how reliable it is, but regarding the spin rate SkyTrak seems accurate. I'm not sure if the unit has to be completely level with the mat and if a few degrees up will change anything. There's no calibration setting or anything. Hard to imagine all units are perfect out from the factory or if each unit has been tested thoroughly. I guess I just have to trust that it is perfectly calibrated at the factory but as an engineer I have a hard to trusting it without some reference point or manual calibration/confirmation.
I'd also think the guys that play a lot on their simulators will have a very consistent numbers as well.Last edited by jacksonlui; 12-08-2014, 10:06 PM.

the driver and 3w were spot on with my distances that i see on the course. i am about avg in my group with some guys that can just bomb it and others that can't hit it out of their shadows. the long guys hit it about 270 carry. i hit it 250 carry. the short knockers are around 215 carry. it is very spot on with what i see on the golf course.

someone with better skills than me might be able to answer this. i honestly don't know. we've only hit driver on the range (yellow range balls). i have not hit it at my house yet as i am scared i might shank a ball at my window in my bonus room. i am getting it built out for a hitting room in the coming weeks. currently i am only hitting wedges into a double vinyl billboard sign hanging on a pvc pipe.

I didn't know that ESPN's Michael Collins does this kind of thing. Will they have a bump on the revenue?

IPad mini 3 is not a real upgrade to iPad mini 2 other than the fingerprint Touch ID. You need the iPad Air 2. Btw, what I've also found is that the speed of the app is also highly affected by your wifi bandwidth and other apps running in the background on your iPad especially if they are also downloading things via wifi in the background. Make sure to quit all other apps for optimal performance.Originally posted by pctekbr View PostSaw that the ipad mini 3 was on sale for $349 at best buy. returned my ipad mini 2 for an upgrade (purchased last week when i got the skytrak). Was hoping for faster response times on the delay. nope. same speed as before.
