Yes the software is definitely premature. I can count over a dozen easily repro'd bugs in my quick 30 minute test and I'm sure the devs are well aware, most of them already reported here. Some are on the list to be fixed by 1.8 but many others not. One potentially major issue is the inability to go back to direct wifi mode after using home wifi mode (software lets you "choose" this but nothing happens). Not sure how I will test this on the range tomorrow as planned since I can't get the unit to broadcast its own wifi network again. Maybe it needs to fail connection first. Haven't tried that yet. But I really want to try direct wifi mode again to see if that has an effect on shot-to-show time. I also really want a protection shield STAT. I only had a few clubs in my garage and wanted to see max launch angle detection, too lazy to go get my gamer clubs from my car across the street and only had another couple minutes of time. Got 40 angle on the PW with a pseudo-lob shot and then got greedy. Opened it waaaay up and shanked a ball right into it! Luckily it was a real soft shot and no damage at all but I thought I killed it on the first day. I want my kids and wife to use this (they are new to golf) and with them learning and my occasional lack of judgement (and talent), there are definitely going to be some hard shank hits going into it!

When you take it to the range and it doesn't find its home wireless network it will default to its own again. i was wondering the same thing until i took it out. remember to close the app or reboot your ipad when doing so or it will not find it. (click the home button twice, slide the app upwards to close it. my wife had to teach me this because i am not a mac guy. i hate apple)

zmax or bubba2, can we get a sticky on these questions about power issues, wireless issues, tips? we are starting to see repeat questions. i will be glad to write one up and let you guys edit it.

For those guys on here that use the 6x6 monster turf with this unit, I have noticed that the tees tend to fly all over the place when using your driver. I found a good solution, the 3 pack of brush tees, the red, yellow and blue one works great, and they disappear after you hit with them. I found that 3 pack at Dick's sporting goods.

Finally got to play with mine last night and today. Agreed that the software is in need of some work. I can't get home wifi to work at all. I tried everything you guys mentioned. It winds up connecting to my network (based on the light pattern of red, amber, green) but then I can't get the Skytrak app to connect to it. I have tried restarting the app, the iPad air, and the Skytrak in all manner of combinations. The unit will connect to the network, but not the device. After that, I can't even direct connect. The only thing I can do to get it to reconnect to the device is to press the hard reset button on the bottom of the unit, and then I can direct connect again. As soon as I connect to wifi again, this fun starts all over. Any thoughts?
Overall, I think this has amazing potential, but it definitely needs some software lovin, which it sounds like it will get. Hopefully much sooner than later. By the way, it will pick up 3-5yd chips for me with no issue, which was a pleasant surprise. As another data point, I am definitely in the 4-5sec range on shot display. This is on an iPad air.
Also, my account online says the activation is expired, and half the time it says my password is Incorrect when I open the app. Sometimes it just sits there for a few seconds in red saying bad password, but then logs me in, other times, I have to re type the password. Can anybody help me activate 'SkyTrak Game Improvement Package'?
I clicked the activation link in the email they sent and I ended up on the page as shown below. Do I have to install the CaddieSync and connect SkyTrak (or my Ipad) to my computer?
Again, the documentations are really lacking.

Appears the app and/or device can come out of calibration or something... I played with it for ~1 hour thinking the thing was broken since my shots were registering like 30-50% short. I powered the device on and off a few times, but that didn't do it. Seems it wasn't until I restarted the app that things went back to normal.

if you look at the email it has a code on it.
looks like:

do not use the activate now button, use the Activate link:

Thanks a lot, I went through the process. But, my account information says it has expired in 12/04/14. So, I tried a chat help, but the chat representative said "I am sorry. You need to call our next level support and they will help you in this.you can reach our phone support at: 1-866-759-4653 between 8am - 5pm Central Mon-Fri."
It is a bit frustrating.

I don't want to sound like whining. But, the company's support system is not providing help enough.
Have anyone gotten an email to upgrade the Boxgroove membership yet? I tried the chat, but it wasn't helpful. They again asked me to call their phone line during Monday-Friday.
