  • Anyone have any recent updated reviews on this LM?

    • It would help if we get an official stance on how important it is to be leveled versus a few degree off? Mine is leveled to my mat which is a few degrees off.

      • I have noticed nothing significant regarding leveling differences. It has been accurate from 8iron and up verified on the range, with very unlevel positioning I.e. I usually put it on folded golf towel when at range and it's never perfectly level yet everything matches distance, ball flight and trajectory. I am pretty sure the unit self-calibrates. Those who note big differences, would like to see some comparison data to see how much this really matters.

Waiting for 1.8 for wedge distance to be accurate, otherwise still very happy with skytrak which lets me practice daily in my garage with accurate feedback.

        • I posted a while back in this thread that its very important for the unit to be level. A little tilt of the unit will result in a bias in LA readings, which will affect carry calculations. The LA readings were verified against the ProTee's V-cam.

          • I did level my unit out and it performed even better, I have been using it about 2-3 times a week, just grooving a swing change along with video to send to a PGA instructor friend of mine. At this point for me, the unit is complete, I do not use it for a short game, just long irons and drivers ( really working on a flatter swing and less backspin off the tee.) I did not buy this as a simulator, so if that is indeed the end result here, then awesome, an added benefit, but as of now there really is nothing for me to report except it works great, no issues.

I had a couple of friends over during ther holidays and we played a couple of rounds on the challenges, and had a blast.

            • Glad it works well for you Spudly. The unit is a decent launch monitor but to compete it absolutely needs simulation. There are folks that only want to practice. Much like the guys that hit the range all the time vs playing. Practice makes one better for sure. Playing is also needed to improve. Having the sim option is great and I think Skytrak realize that.

              • Greetings!!
We, as Skytrak users, would all agree that it is an awesome launch monitor in that price range.
I created a Youtube movie for those who are interested in Skytrak and new comers of this forum. This movie is to test Skytrak outdoors for its accuracy. I expect that people will create more and better videos after this winter is gone by. But, until then, I hope this will help want-to-be-owners for their decision.

                  • Hks - How were the dispersion numbers? I saw you hit a few left and right, curious if that is good as well.

                    • FYI, I will be attending the PGA merchandise show January 21st in Orlando, I have spoken to the guys at Skytrak and they will be there in the Skygolf booth, and plan on stopping in to see what's new. I will also make the rounds to all the other sim guys as well including the E6 software booth, so maybe I can get an update as to the release of some sim stuff. I will also be attending the demo day at Orange National, last year a couple of the sim companies were out on the range, if Sky trak is there, I will shoot some video.

Sorry, I can't answer your question, because I didn't focus on the dispersion numbers.

                        • thanks for the video HKS!! It's great to see that the unit is accurate based on emperical data

                          • Great video HKS. Thanks! If they offer the right sim options, I'll break my wrist trying to whip my credit card out. I've never been one to even hit range balls in real life, so sim software is make or break for me. Cautiously optimistic. At least it appears the unit is accurate enough considering the price.

                            • Hey guys, new to the forum and have a Skytrak on its way. Do you have any recommendations on which iPad model is best? I'm leaning towards the Air 2 but was curious about performance of different models.

                              • Go with the iPad Air 2. It's faster.
