  • Thanks Spudly, $25 per month sounds great, did they mention any type of minimum commitment or is $25 a month to month price? What computing platform will be required to use the E6 cloud software and the SkyTrak. Will it work on an iPad or is it only available with a Windows based PC. If Windows based will it work with a Windows tablet?

Not that I could tell, it will be a monthly amount. I have some literature and will dive into it later and post some more info, hard to do from the floor here.

      • Thanks for the update, Spudly!
It is great to hear that they are aware of the distance issue. Whatever flight model they use, it needs improvement.
It seems to me that Skytrak 1.8 adds excessive carry yards when the back spin is below 6,000 rpm within the range of ball speeds generated by mid-irons. This logic might apply to driver shots, but not all other kinds of shots.

If you have time, could you also verify if this is the E6 FULL, with all games modes and courses aka FULL OPTION? Perhaps it's based on E6 Lite, with just a couple of courses, static pictures and all the other limitations?

I doubt that they would give out full e6 for $25 a month.

Also, with WGT, ask them if its the Windows version or just the mobile platform.

          Thanks

The WGT will be both eventually it looks like the mobile version may be first. Here is a picture of the E6 info, from what I can tell it is the full version with access to over 100 courses, that's whatvyhe brochure says. Also you get free courses each year and access to online tourneys.

According to the guys at Trugolf they want to be the go to software provider for all platforms at an affordable price for every golfer.

            • Lot of info coming today. Very nice work spudly. Great question Zmax and I'm interested to hear what the reply is. However if they can get a big enough subscriber base in the long run e6 will make more from that than just one time purchases from a select few.

              • Oh yeah and the e6 cloud will also work on mobile devices such as iPads and phones.

BTW, I love this event, I am a kid in a candy store, sensory overload.

                  Spudly,
Can you specify or fine out how the cloud will work on mobile devices? I am all Mac in my house but will have to get a pc for the cloud of e6 unless mobile devices are possible with the cloud. Doesn't seem like the iPad could handle that.?

              • If its the full e6, that would be a bold move as that would probably kill their $8-40K systems. Why would anybody buy their $8K Technique sensor systems?

Let me elaborate this a little bit by comparing these two shots below.

When my ball speed goes above 90mph, my back spin usually goes down to mid 6,000 rpm. This is the point when the gradual excessive carry distance kicks in when compared to Optimal Flight, Flightscope Trajectory Optimizer and my feeling.
#45 shows my typical back spin in this ball speed range. Skytrak 1.8 says '140' carry yards, but OF predicts '133.8' and FTO says '134.4'. My feeling is close to OF and FTO.
#46 is not my typical shot, but I was able to boost back spins. Skytrak says '139' and OF predicts '138.2' FTO says '139.2'. They are all within 1 yard.

If my ball speed goes above 100mph and the back spin goes down to 5000rpm, the excessive carry distance goes up to 10-15 yards. This pattern probably explains my comparisons in my previous posts.

P.S. I had to add a screenshot showing a comparable shot recorded in 1.7 version. You can compare it to #45.

I wonder if that helps to explain that I am thinking that the distances are a lot better in this version than the last? Can you please share some shot data for mid irons so that I can compare? That could shed light on the logic of Skytrak's flight model?

Cool that E6 Cloud will also work on mobile devices. Isn't it to graphically intensive for them ?

Thanks for all the info Spudly.

                      • Ok, just confirmed with the guys at the Trugolf booth, the cloud based service is the full E6 software and no initial purchase required just sign up and pay $25 monthly.

They are shooting for late March and they are hoping to have Skytrak on board , their fingers were crossed.

                        Wow!

I've never been attracted to the sim play before. But, with that low monthly subscription, I am almost into it. Thanks for the info, Spudly, again.
