Skytrak picks up foam balls just as good as real balls in my experience. The distance (and likely spin) will obviously be off, but Skytrak picks up what is happening. The distances for SW and PW are fairly close to a real ball, but as you go longer in clubs the reduction in distance increases. Also, be careful using yellow balls (or even balls with black markings) since the color can wear off on your screen and the foam balls I had tore quickly when using a SW and cracked with repeated use of a driver or wood.

No PC, just Ipad.(Is there a recycle bin on an Ipad that I'm not seeing?)

I've never gone back a version on an app, might need some step by steps as well as the 1.7. Thanks a million!

The games/competitions are way more fun and engaging than I anticipated. Did closest to pin and target practice and it was awesome. When I felt distance was short or long, it showed as such. Same for pushes or pulls. What I feel is showing up. Need to get outside to test a bit but weather isn't helping my desire to go outside and hit at the heated bays.

I'll say this. I've probably hit 250 balls with this thing. That's $30 in range balls - plus I'm getting great feedback on each ball/swing. Only 13,970 more balls until this thing has paid for itself!!
Totally agreed... Plus, you can keep hitting your actual play balls, not yellow practice balls with irregular quality.

I did, it is expected with in the launch of the E6 partnership. I tried on both fronts, (skytrak and Trugolf) to pin anyone down on an answer but all I got was hopefully soon. So we know a couple of things:

            1. E6 is still very much in the works and a partnership exist between the two companies.
            2. WGT is not going to happen until sometime in March.
            3. E6 cloud is only going to be $25 a month and it looks like close to the full version.

You have two companies here, one on the hardware side and one on the software side with similar visions. They both want to take this technology and love of the game to everyone, not just those willing to spend $10K+. Technology is getting less expensive and these two companies plan to make these systems affordable and fun for everyone.

              • what about putting? that seems necessary for simulation

They've stated that these features are coming in updates. So full swing, partial swing and putting will all be possible with ST.

                    • Does it matter if anything in the background of the camera view? I have a smaller shed used for hitting and store lawn mower and tools in it also and they are in the background. And also has anyone had balls break from hitting into screen? I Seem to break a ball every 2-3 sessions. Using prov1x's

I've cracked several TM TourPreffered balls during an indoor fitting. The fitter gets them for "free" from TM as a fitter and he says they crack after 30-40 hard strikes. He says they never do that on the course but in the shop its common. I've never hit a tour level ball that many times in single round hard enough to know if that is a possibility on the course!

That's $300 a year, or about 20% of the Skytrak, every year for the rest of your life.

Once the excitement wanes (and it will) how much will each person use it each year? Many sims go from being used daily, to weekly and eventually sporadically...a few times a year. Of course everyone thinks they will be the exception but in time most won't be.

Compared to an exorbitant purchase price option (>$4k?) leasing the software for $300/year doesn't sound too bad...$25/month sounds even better...pennies a day better still. It's all in the marketing. But for the consumer the real answer is something they don't want people to think about...buying the software at a reasonable price to start with!

Anyway, just a different point of view.

I think that statement is really the key here, both companies are trying to make it fun and exciting all the time. I wish I could scan this E6 cloud brochure and upload it here, but they are going to be introducing many games and tourneys including closest to the pin contest and challenges every week. The idea is to keep that interest level up, I don't know, could work if done right. The social community that will be formed will allow you to form up clubs and simply play a round of golf with your buddies online, I could see this becoming a really cool aspect if it takes off.
