I thought I cleared this up 3 weeks ago at the PGA show when I confirmed that there would be no up front cost, just the monthly fee. That was the whole idea of the cloud based system, why would anyone spend $3K up front and then a monthly fee and be time limited (if this is true) when the original software was less?

    • I think part of the confusion comes from the fact that no official announcement about sim pricing has been made.

The limited time thingy is a new one though, and I hope is just a nasty rumor that is also untrue.

        • There will for sure be limited usage at the $25 per month fee. They told me 20-30 hrs per month. The other question is how smooth and well the graphics/gameplay will be?

So will all the data be stored on the cloud ? No course data will be stored locally ?

Trugolf are going to need really good servers and user are going to need a fast and consistent network for that to work well

            • For any who are interested, I took a lesson this weekend and got to capture 3 warmup swings on both SkyTrak and Flightscope. Would have done more, but we had a lot of work to do and his time is on my dime. I have loaded them in the chart below along with differences and average differences. Made some comments as well, trying to make sense of it all. Make of it what you will. I am pretty sure it validates for me I have a good tool, but the flight algorithms need some further tweaking and this thing is hard to align to flightscope.

              • Tried to do the "image thing" and its not coming out where it can be read. Any help would be appreciated. Alternatively if you are interested to see the data let me know and I will send it to you.

                • I agree with the alignment being an issue. I'm thinking of a way to screw or tape something on the bottom with a line parallel to the laser sights. Using the holes at the bottom as a constant, it wouldn't be hard to get pretty "close enough " alignment consistently this way. Maybe something out of Perspex or laminate would do the trick.
                  I'll keep tinkering.

                  • Hi Spudly

Im a Trugolf dealer. I called Trugolf Friday and spoke to my rep. I was told that you must buy E6 first and then the 1.6 can be added as a subscription. This was made very clear to me. Maybe my rep is mistaken. But I doubt it. Think about it. How are these other simulator companies that are running E6 going to make money?

We will see soon enough. I hope Im wrong.

                    • This is the post from TruGolf on the TruGolf 1.6 thread. Fingers crossed I'll be playing E6 with Skytrak this time next month for $25pm !

"Hey Guys, I'm the Salesman at TruGolf that Bubba talked to this morning. There is no requirement to own E6 to take part in E6 Cloud. The Pricing that we are working with, not concrete, is $25/month for residences and $150/month (+$75/additional units) for Commercial Centers. Features of the two levels will be released in the future as we finalize contracts and agreements with all our buisiness/hardware partners involved. Check out our link below if you want a better idea of what you get with E6 Cloud.

                      • Has anyone verified the accuracy of the ball speed. I've hit on a few trackmans and have always averaged 162-163 ball speeds with 111-112 club head speed. With the skytrak I average 153-155 ball speeds. Have verified with impact tape that hitting center on the face and used a swingbyte for swingspeed and was getting the same 112 swingspeed. I used the same swingbyte during trackman sessions too and it was very close.

A month or so ago I had the same issue with driver and my ball speeds are almost identical to yours. I typically hit low to mid 160's. Skytrak was reading 155 tops. at that time I did get one to somehow read 166 but I really jumped at it. I don't know if I knocked the dust off my swing since then or if reinstalling fresh with v1.8 reset/over wrote something, but I've magically made it back into the 160's without feeling like my swing or impact changed (Using Dr scholls on the face to verify impact)

This is all very new, and as you can see he probably does not have all the info.

yesteday, i hit some balls with the skytrak and swingbyte2 and skytrak always reported a slower swingspeed as compared to swingbyte. Not sure why.
I'm still unable to register soft chips.

Don't rely on the skytrak numbers for swing speed. It is just calculated from the ball speed using a formula like (SP x 1.5= BS). 1.5 is a smash factor and it varies depending on the swing speed and how well the ball meets the club face. In real world, the smash factor is the number calculated by BS/SP.

Swingbyte measures swing speeds, but not ball speeds and vice versa for Skytrak.

I am able to register all kinds of chips. Starting from 5 yards, low and high.
