I've been playing a '3 person' solo game from 10 yards - SW / GW / PW closest to the pin with no problems. All seems legit on mine.

I've gotten used to checking Ball speed, launch angle and spin rate/axis now rather than swing speed etc. Those numbers are empirical in the unit. Everything else (even carry/roll/peak height) are inferred.
But in my usage of Swingbyte and ST side by side i've seen a few MPH difference as well. I still like using both though as it gives you the full view of your swing, from setup to impact. It's a great way to practice if you don't get overloaded with all the data points....

Here is the cover/leveling unit I made for my skytrak. So far, i cannot tell a difference between just having the skytrak sitting on something without being leveled and using it when I do have it leveled. Granted, I try to make sure it looks level and doesn't have some big tilt in either direction. I might not be consistent enough anyway, but at least now I know the leveling is no longer a variable. Total cost was about $20. Now, I'm just waiting for v1.9 to correct the mid iron length issue.

Spent some time today with the swingbyte going. I trust the swing speed on it and that's all I really use it for, I've used it during several trackman sessions and it is within 1 mph for me. I always averaged around 162 on trackmans for ball speed. This shot wasn't perfect contact but was decent enough. I am a plus handicap golfer who plays a lot of individual tournaments. Skytrak is estimating a 1.43 smash factor and using swingbyte swingspeed and skytrak ball speed it's coming to a 1.36 smash factor. I am usually a 1.45-1.46 smash factor on trackman. Hopefully this can be fixed with an update. If not I'll probably be getting a gc2 with the head attachment.

But was your ball speed correct? As in, the unit infers SS, but should be accurate for ball speed.
Interesting that you feel the SS number being a deal breaker, I really care about LA, BS, Spin and Spin Angle. If those are right or close then I am happy.
The other numbers can be fixed in software.
Having said that, in my basement I can't hit more than a 3i so I can't compare the high end of the bag.

I could care less about swing speed. It is showing 152 for ball speed. I have been averaging right about 152-153 with the skytrak. I pre ordered and have been using this for a few months now. They keep saying that all the measured parameters are good and ball speed is within 1 mph, But I know ball speed could be off by as much as 10 mph for me with a driver. I'm trying to bend lofts to get yardages I want with each club and if I'm assuming ball speeds are correct and they aren't then all my yardages will be off. I also have some people asking to come over and do the same with there clubs and need to know that the measured parameters are actually accurate. I use all the info skytrak gives and enter them into flight scope trajectory optimizer until they get there algorithms straightened out.

I suggest uninstalling the app, reboot the iPad and reinstall the app. I was seeing the same problem. For me, it was either the reinstall that fixed it or my ball speed magically jumped 10-12 mph within a month back to where I expected it.

I reinstalled app after reading your posts about it but didn't restart iPad. I'll try that now and try it again tomorrow to check ball speeds.

I am seeing ball speeds on skytrak 141 max, measuring 148-155 with ES 12 Doppler radar. I'll reinstall and try tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks for the info.

Might want to try a new ball. I had similar issues but I went to a new sleeve of balls and the ball speed came back up. Maybe it's the dimple recognition not being as good... Just a thought. Also the ES 12 could be wrong not the skytrak

Uninstalled/reinstalled app and rebooted iPad mini. Also used a brand new ball and marked it with a line. Speeds compared to ES 12 were better but still 6-8 mph slow. I'll have to get on a trackman or CG2 to figure out which is correct. Unit was not perfectly level, wouldn't think that should affect the speed readings.

I have re installed a few times and speeds are still low with driver. But they are the same when I hit on a gc2 at the golf store. I always assumed they were lower at store because of cheap balls. But I took my own today and was getting the same 152-153 speeds. I am wondering now if the trackman I was hitting on wasn't set up correctly or has "juiced" up a little to get the 162 ball speeds.

Maybe that is what happend in my case, too. Maybe I started out both rusty AND swinging slower because I was inside. After a couple of months of realizing I wasn't likely to break something, I might have started going after it harder. That would probably make more sense than a software bug on swing speed. Perhaps keithpbz is seeing something like this as well. In any case, I do trust the raw data on the skytrak at this point.

Yes you're probably tentative cos you're inside. Ifind I tend to 'hit at it' more outside when I'm more target conscious. This isn't ideal either as my ball speed doesn't automatically go up as I don't hit as well. Also adrenaline plays more of a part outside (see Dennis Pugh youtube Trackman video).

Other the other hand you may be looser and faster indoors!!! It really is horses for courses but before saying the LM is wrong would look at your own performance. Trackman, Flightscope, GC2 with HMT all are very similar on ballspeeds even if they do differ a fair bit on clubhead speed due to when and where on the face impact is measured

I've used it indoors and outdoors. And when I hit on trackman I still used my swingbyte to see how accurate it was on swing speeds. I am registering the same swing speeds indoors as I do outdoors. Can trackmans be adjusted to simulate a higher ball speed than was actually hit? I consistently make center of face contact with all clubs and don't understand how I have lost 9-10 mph of ball speed. Or the trackman results weren't accurate but everyone swears that they are the industry standard. Used a gc2 today and was also getting about 153 ball speeds.

I'll try to hit my Skytrak with the GC2 tomorrow. I have a lesson planned but will try to test these out at the same time.
