Been testing the Skytrak with E6. Connection is easily done through wifi. Bill data is measured and fed to E6 using its algo's. Delay is about 3 seconds. Probably ok with most folks but those that expect it immediate may be annoyed. They are working on improving the shot to show time. Chipping works fine. No putting as of yet. One thing that is critical is having the unit exactly aligned to the target line. If off it will affect the horizontal azimuth. Right now they don't have the alignment assist option available within E6 but I suggest they allow it to make it easier to align. Overall however it works fine.

E6 runs OK on my 4 year old Dell precision laptop that has an Medium performance AMD GPU that is not even close in performance to the mentioned GTX880M.
Never did any deeper analysis on performance because the ST + E6 experience was not even close to what I would consider a good simulator.
Possibly because I was using it without the updated ST firmware.
As a performance reference the same laptop will run PG at the low setting but only at some 35-40 fps. TGC you can set to whatever you want it will not run at any usable frame rate on that machine.
Another reference is the Dell XPS 12 that has a 3rd gen i7 but only the built in Intel GPU.
That thing will not run any of the sim games at a resonable frame rate. So laptop is OK, but you need some kind of external GPU that is typically found in gaming laptops.

I am using my Asus ux 51 i7 laptop with a gtx650m which is about 3 years old now. At first e6 ran unacceptably slow but after the e6 update that someone on this forum referenced it started running at a much more acceptable speed. I am not sure whether the update helped with the speed or not or my changing graphic settings was the cause for improved performance but now I can enjoy playing the Wade Hampton course and will consider paying for e6 until TGC is released and I purchase a new high end gaming laptop.

Yeah, I'm watching the game. I'm a Bears fan though..haha...I know, I don't want to hear it!
I play the Championship Tees. All the tees are fine for me, but hate the first par three (think hole 3). It's 215 yards and easy to go left in water or get stuck right on the shit...haha! That's the only hole I hate!
My lowest score yet is 78 on Championship tees. But had to move gimmies up to 10 feet because of the Putting Going Right issues.

The best I have done is 70 from the championship tees using the select how many putts. Anything under 15 feet I used 1 putt and anything over 15 feet was 2 putt. Will try the auto putt and see how that goes.

Willymakit, anything under 15' was good.........WOW, I think the pro's are at 25% make at 15'.
I'd go good on anything under 8', 2 putt 9'-40' and 3 putt above 41'. That's just me though

Each to there own I guess. When putting is a little more stable then I'm sure I will change the options. if they had an adjustment of +/- 2 then the putting would work. i hit it 2 inside out or 2 outside in. Even tried using a stick and have my putter slide on the stick and still couldn't get a correct reading.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before. But anyone know if E6 demo will run on old Macbook Pro (macbookpro3,1 w 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 128MB) running Windows 7 32-bit using Boot Camp or MacBook Air (MacBookAir4,1 w 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 and Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB) running Windows 10 using Boot Camp or Parallels Desktop 11 or VMware Fusion 8? Thanks.

Hey doublebogey, I don't know Mac, but for E6 you should be fine, might be 3-5 second delay. avantix I think was thinking you were talking about TGC.
-
Ok thanks. Only thing I worry is Trugolf website states systems requirements for E6 demo as "nVidia dedicated graphics GTX 460 or higher with minimum 1GB RAM video memory" or "nVidia dedicated graphics GTX 550 or higher with minimum 1GB RAM video memory" but none of the older MacBook Pro or MacBook Air has graphics card w 1GB dedicated RAM I believe?

I run it via Bootcamp (windows 10), on my 2015 Macbook Pro with AMD 370x GPU. Its playable, but a bit sluggish. Menus are not very responsive, mouse pointer lags a bit. But once in the game, it works well enough.
I dont think it will run at all in Parallels or VMWare since I dont believe either of those environments support the Direct3D drivers needed for the game. I could be wrong on that, but have never had luck trying to play other games in VMWare.

Anyone else not being able to get a putt to read from the fringe? I always have to chip it even if I want to put. I still have the issue with putting as everyone but mine pushes left instead of right even with a left hit putt. I also use almost golf balls when using a wedge since my ceiling can't handle anymore dings. I have not found an issue with that. I play into a net return

Tried E6 again on my new faster laptop tonight. Gave up after 3 holes. Think I tried 10+ putts on the 1st hole none registered, told the game to move on to next hole +7 thru 1, nice considering I was GIR. I like the range in E6, I think that's about it.

luv2golf you are running an old version of E6.
Go to: C:\TruGolf\E6 Golf 1.6
Run the TruUpdate.exe - then click Check for Updates. This will update you to 1.6.16.1
However, I got a newer update when TruGolf had there files open on their site. I have an update for 1.6.16.2 that I'm currently running. The file is about 300 MB.
I am running:
Direct X 11
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1
You can check your Direct X version by doing the following:
In Start/Run
Type dxdiag
Then click on dxdiag app
It will open and you will see which version you have install.

I have been trying to setup E6 1.6 demo with Skytrak but I cannot get E6 to recognize the Skytrak. Can somebody help me with the detailed setup and connect steps? I have a brand new gaming laptop running Windows 10 Home with 12G RAM, i7 and 2G dedicated memory on the eForce GTX960. Here is what I have tried: 1. Downloaded the latest Demo from TruGolf website and installed with Skytrak as the Manufacturer 2. Then start the E6 (which starts OK) 3. turn on Skytrak and plugin it into the USB on the laptop 4. When I plug skytrak in, the second light flashes and then stops flashing and stays Amber. I tried this sequence so many times. A co-worker get E6 work for his Skytrak after quite a bit of fiddling but Any help is greatly appreciated!

m3w, thanks for the info.
Yes I tried these steps exactly the same a few times but nothing happens. I tried on an older laptop with Windows 7, where I see the Logging command window displaying skytrak:: discover and connect. but it never connects and the same "skytrak::discover and connect" line repeats every 20 seconds.
So I thought maybe it is because my PC was too old and E6 does not work with Windows 7, I went and bought a brand new gaming Laptop. Now when I try it with the new Laptop, the Logging Window does not even come up :-).
I am now restoring my new laptop to before I install the E6 and reinstall it and see if things change.
