Been testing the Skytrak with E6. Connection is easily done through wifi. Bill data is measured and fed to E6 using its algo's. Delay is about 3 seconds. Probably ok with most folks but those that expect it immediate may be annoyed. They are working on improving the shot to show time. Chipping works fine. No putting as of yet. One thing that is critical is having the unit exactly aligned to the target line. If off it will affect the horizontal azimuth. Right now they don't have the alignment assist option available within E6 but I suggest they allow it to make it easier to align. Overall however it works fine.

I have the same issue - in spurts. I will happen incessantly for the first 8-12 holes over all players. And then it won't happen again for the rest of the day. I cannot figure out a common thread. Active USB extension, short USB cable, WIFI - all the same behavior. One thing I did do was reboot the computer (full power down) so that all the memory was freed-up. That seemed to help. Maybe its on the software/driver side and not on the SkyTrak side?

Yeah, it's hard to say what is causing this. I have a brand spanking new Windows 10 HP gaming PC with 6GB GTX980ti graphics running on i7 processor and 32GB DDR4 RAM. My PC should have no issues with speed or memory. But yes, I would like to know what is causing this problem!

If that's E6 - it shows why he's so accurate! I've been playing on an E6 in a local sports pub (which I know is setup properly), and almost everything goes straight - I can bomb 300 yard drives as straight as an arrow, almost every time, and that never happens on the course.
E6 has issues with measuring direction.
-
That really depends on which launch monitor E6 is connected to. If it's using an older FullSwing system, that doesn't measure spin, then of course everything will go fairly straight.
In any case, I'll give Tiger the benefit of the doubt in this situation. After all, he's still the best golfer of all time.

Last night I was playing the e6 demo and came upon a weird situation. My playing partner had a 30yd chip shot. Not matter what he did he could not get the shot to read. I stepped up to see if my swing made any difference. Every time i tried the shot it would read; every time he tried it would not read. We just kept hitting mulligan after mine so we could keep trying different ball placement. I never had to reset the machine. We each tried using the same clubs but in the end he could never get it to register. He even tried to blast one with a full swing with no luck. There was nothing visibly different in his swing than mine. Both of us are pretty decent players with consistent short game. This situation was the most obvious example of his swing not reading and mine having no issues, although other times in the round he gets more no reads than i do. Has anyone else had a certain player experience way more mis-reads than someone else?

I played a course called Wade Hampton last night? Anyone familiar? Anyway, I actually made a few putts and shot even actual (10ft gimmies). I never ended up on the fringe, so I had no chipping issues. Every single shot registered and no misreads besides 1 iron shot with excessive spin, but this is a ST and worn ball issue....not software.
As i was playing, I kept thinking about how keyboard intensive TGC is supposed to be (I personally have not played it...sim or game). I think this would ruin it for me. The only time I touch the mouse in e6 is to change my aim point and that isn't even once a hole. I feel this comes from turning a video game into sim software as opposed to being native sim software like e6. I am really interested in how PG will compare.
I play to improve and have fun, but not to be a "gamer". Unless, I can find a way to try TGC, I can't justify $1000 to make my sim rounds more cumbersome and time consuming. Does anyone else share my view/concerns? I already bought a bad ass PC specifically for TGC, but I am thinking the experience trumps the graphics....JMO.

I can only speak for TGC, but the only time you need to click the mouse is when you advance to the next hole. For the rest the game play is fully automated. The advance to the next hole is something easy to automate using a timer which we sure will implement in a future release.
Any other keyboard or mouse interaction is the same as with any other sim software package.
Anyway E6 is a great product. You will absolutely enjoy it.

I have played E6 and chose TGC over it for the Graphics. What I didn't realize at the time was how much better the ball physics were. TGC feels more like real golf. E6 putting is terrible compared to TGC. And the kicker..... E6 is way more money. I also play to improve and have fun. TGC is considering a demo. Demos can be hacked so easily, how long have the ST users been playing Wade Hampton......30 days? PG is competition for TGC, E6 is not. E6 needs an huge update or they need to be put out to pasture like Red Chain. JMO

I'm confused by the graphics comment. I agree that TGC putting and chipping is way better than e6, and the ball physics are also superior, but graphic are better? TGC is very crisp and the views are awesome, but the courses I've seen on TGC look like a video game. For all of e6's faults, when I fire up Wade Hampton, it looks so much more 'real' than the TGC courses.
Don't get me wrong - I'm thrilled that I bought TGC, but you have to acknowledge, it looks like a vedio game.Last edited by Mickey; 02-27-2016, 03:31 PM.

Totaly agree with you Mario...have played twice a week since 2 year on full swing golf simulator and ..wow E6 awesome. .. I have ST/E6 demo since 2 week and chip and putt are good, not perfect but good (maybe an uptaded version?) No putt on fringe but bump and run are very good. Waiting for the E6 next step. If tgc have a demo or a mountly trial i would like to test for make a choice...

I don't think we can compare the E6 demo to anything. This demo is from the summer with no updates since for Skytrak. So if E6 only had putting and chipping issues in the summer. I can only image what E6 is like now.

Can you use the e6 demo with the basic (free) package or do you need to upgrade to the $100 a year or $200 a year package? When I try to use e6 it connects (three green lights) but then immediately says that I am unauthorized to use e6 and shuts down. I am logged into skytrak and registered at the time.

I have the same problem as heynow07. I bought the skytrak father day package. So I have the game improvement package, but whenever i try to play the e6 demo I immediately get the message that the system is not authorized for this hardware and shuts down. In the skytrak app, I am logged in and have access to all the modes.Hopefully anyone can help with this.
Really looking forward to playing some sim.
