  • SKYTRAK UPDATE: V4.1 SkyTrak Golf Simulator Software (SPIN DECAY)

SKYTRAK - Watch our SkyTrak Golf Simulator Review covering their new V4.1 update for the SkyTrak Golf Simulator Software Application. This latest update now takes into account for Spin Decay on the SkyTrak driving range! I consider this a huge update for SkyTrak as you could really tell that the shot shapes could get exaggerated before. Based on this review and test I am seeing ball flights that are matching the UNEEKOR EYE XO which is a much more expensive Golf Launch Monitor coming in at $10,000 compared to the $1,999 SkyTrak price.

Isn't a weakness of Skytrak it's horizontal launch angle reading, due to sitting at the side of the ball?

Also wouldn't the EyeXO have a weakness with vertical launch since it's above the golf ball?

I am sure tolerance level is closer with Eye XO, but that just seems to be why those measurements were almost always off slightly from each other in the video.

      Both of these are correct.

Quad has the same HLA problem as Skytrak, though likely to a lesser extent with tighter tolerances.

Side on is not ideal for HLA, but since the quad takes hundreds of pictures (versus 2), the redundancies reduces errors.

How do you get the updateÉ

I just saw the video on skytrak's 4.1 release and spin decay looks to be a 'game changer'. Any ideas when The Golf Club 2019 will be fixing the same problem?

TGC 2019 has its own flight algorithms and has had spin decay is use all along from what I understand. Ron, GungHoGolf can probably confirm.

I wouldn't call it a game changer. It is something that never should have been broken in the first place. And as mentioned, TGC2019 ball flight model has had spin decay all along.

The flight algorithm is the same, it’s just the visual flight model that’s changed. The algorithm is based very closely on optimal flight algorithm I believe. The ball won’t go any less left! What would be a game changer is if they could eliminate the slight left bias that seems to exist vs quad/uneekor. With my heavy draw I would see readings of 1000 ss left on quad and approx 400 more on Skytrak. All in all though once you adjust for this it’s a cracking little unit.
