  • Should I get a floor mount or ceiling mount if I have children who play?

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a SkyTrak. Would you guys advise going with a floor mount or a ceiling mount if I have a 7 year old and 5 year old who play? Also: how big of a deal is the fact that one child is left-handed and the other is right-handed? I ask because it appears I'll have to move the launch monitor each time one hits.

In my experience, moving a floor monitor is really annoying if you don't have the space to put it on a central swivel mount and hit from the other side of it.

I went with Mevo+ and when I eventually upgrade it'll certainly be to an overhead unit since both my toddlers are lefties.

Ceiling mount or on a cart off to the side like foresight sports sim in a box setup. Floor mount is terrible, plus if you hit a top and it’s in the line of fire who knows where the ball is going to go after the ramp. Maybe some skytrak users will comment on moving it back and forth. I just have an occasional left hander so with the gc2 it’s not a big deal to move it around. Not sure if I’d want to do it with kids every other shot, or have them moving it to a precise spot…

As another poster commented, I would always ceiling mount, if given the choice. Regardless of whether kids are involved or not.

I’m floor mounted. Go ceiling. Floor isn’t the end of the world but it’s not ideal.

I would strongly recommend against getting the SkyTrak with your young lefty and righty kids. Moving the monitor back and forth is a hassle, and getting the alignment right after each move is tough unless you have the floor marked or do some alignment test shots. Also, young kids tend to hit the ball wildly, and the SkyTrak is in harm's way with a toed shot.

At the same price point, the Mevo+ would be a better choice, as long as you have at least 17' of room depth. We currently have them in stock and on sale at 10% off ($1799 instead of $1999): https://store.gunghogolf.com/FlightS...evo-p180297324.

Regarding projector placement: ceiling mounting it is more work up-front, but you'll never be sorry you did it - it will be up and out of harm's way, and will never get bumped and go out of position.
