Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

I played an entire summer tour with a guy who played TGC on a skytrak. My guess is it's about the licensing, not the ability to use the software. If true, I bet all software will launch once they figure that out. The tournament ability of TGC is amazing and more people playing will make it better. My Courses:
World Par 3's by mthunt
Toronto GC (L) mthunt
Burlington G&CC by mthunt
Weston G&CC by mthunt

I have been playing TGC on Skytrak for close to year now. Its great, in fact awesome! The only knock on Skytrak is the putting accuracy of the horizontal azumuth is suspect. there are software corrections that TGC have developed to make it more playable. I have been in contact with Skytrak to really push the release with not only TGC but also E6 and PG.

Based on what I've seen in other topics, they haven't released a lot of the sim options because of security concerns. They understandably have to protect their assets, they don't want people to easily connect their Skytrak to TGC (that can be bought for something like $30) without buying their proper license.
In some cases I think it should be easy.. the number of people that actually have a Skytrak is limited, the number of people willing to try to crack their licenses is even fewer. Still, if the opportunity to exploit that is there, then they'd be right to cover their tracks before releasing. I know plenty of people that haven't paid for an official OS for their computers.. and there are some major players in that arena that you'd think would be able to get that right!
I want my software, but I understand that in order for Skytrak to support it in the future, they really need to have it protected. I'm hopeful that they're close to getting a verification system they feel comfortable with, and everything else is ready to go.

So did anyone get anywhere replicating their home courses? I tried it's too hard. I can see its easy enough to make a fantasy course. Wondered if anyone has the perseverance!

I'm working on it since 6 weeks. The basic layout was easy, getting all the slopes and elevations right is the hardest part for me. I'm sure there are easier ways once you know all the tools and get used to them. I'm not giving up but it will take another few weeks for sure

I recently played Kapalua bay in Maui. IRL I have played the course 4 times. The guy who designed the course did an excellent job. With a few exceptions of things in the distance. Elevation, size and shape of bunkers, distance, and greens were bang on. There will be some good ones, and some bad ones.

Admire your patience sascha. Hope its rewarded with a decent course. That might spur me on again. Based on my progress im thinking it's about 100 hours per replica course.
