Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Guys i need your help. I have seen a Video on YouTube from a guy called Tom jenks. He was playing tgc on his skytrak. Does anyone know that guy. I would like to find out where He got the tees he is using in the video.
-
oh Sascha1818 you're still persevering with your course design!
-
Hahahaha yes mrhogan I still am. I didn't have a lot of time lately but I'm still working on it. The basic layout was easy, the hard part is to get all the slopes right. Specifically when you know the course and played it 100 times. I might be a little picky. I think I spend 4 hours on the slope of the first green only hahahaha but I'm getting better and faster

Question for the beta testers of TGC/SkyTrak combo- How is the chipping/putting with this setup? I simply cannot take E6 or WGT because of the lack of chipping and putting, way to frustrating. It is basically tee shot approach shot go to next hole.

I have seen a TGC beta video of a very short chip (5-10 feet) and it worked perfectly. I think you have to choose the shot-type in TGC (Chip instead of Full) and that triggers the Skytrak "chip mode" which I believe increases the time delay between the 2 pictures that are taken.Originally posted by DougieMn View PostQuestion for the beta testers of TGC/SkyTrak combo- How is the chipping/putting with this setup? How is that related to TGC? If the ST hardware can not detect these types of shots, then TGC will not change that.
The TGC configuration file will allow you to compensate for horizontal launch inaccuracy (if needed).
-
Well the inaccuracy compensation is related to the sim integration, e.g. TGC.
As for the wedge shot detection that is not related to TGC but was more a comment directed to the video on what was shown and what more would be nice to see. I have no idea what improvements the new firmware will deliver. Maybe all of those shots are detected just fine? I don't know that is why I am asking.
-
@ProTee this is not a criticism of TGC, in fact I fully expect to buy it at launch, but hopefully you can understand that someone wouldn't want to shell out for sim software (whoevers) if all the shots required in a full round of golf can't be played - whether thats an ST/hardware issue or not. If theres a trial then people can make their own minds up otherwise it has to be made on limited youtube footage.

Looks like the graphics where turned way down. Must have been not the ideal computer. If you look at the light and shade on the green you see that it's turned down. For me that delay would be just fine. I build a ball return on my sim so by the time I stopped the ball coming back I can look up and see the shot. Great video.

Will this finally be the week? (A birdy told me it -should- be, with e6 coming out afterwords) Also does anyone else ever wonder what happened to the OP of this thread. I bet he bought a GC2 or protee system. Ha.

Cross-posting here in hopes that someone official may answer: Bottom line I know I will have to run TGC at a low resolution. But I am hoping I can try it out before committing that much cash to a simulator software package. Does anyone know if a trial version or a money back option will be available for TGC?

The SkyTrak security system will not be able to handle this right now. We will discuss it with SkyTrak.

So ProTee United Is this the week we skytrak owners have been waiting for?

If you want a trial because you are worried about how your PC will handle it, just buy it on Steam for $30 and see how it runs. You can do a refund if you play less than 1 hour.
The simulator version will run the same as the steam version, which is to say not very well even on good hardware. I have a decent PC with an nvidia 970 and it runs just OK.

And another week is almost gone...
Sure was hoping to be able to fire up Magnolia at my annual Super Bowl party with the guys. Guess it's Wade Hampton FTW.

So, next week then? Is that the consensus? Do we believe they can finally deliver? Is the earth flat? I just don't know anymore.
