Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Did I hear you right that you are going to use an iMac for the TGC software. I don't think that will even work. You need an nvidia based card and the one on the mac would be way too weak.Originally posted by rbarthle17 View Post
I contacted ProTee United and got this reply: "It will work with WIFI, but we recommend to use a USB cable. Upon release we only support USB connections. We do not have the support organization in place to figure out SkyTrak direct modes, network modes, ip addresses, security, syncing and network routing issues. So if you experience any kind of connection issue you will need to hook up your SkyTrak to USB."
As another alternative I am looking into VirtualHere for a USB via IP solution. I do have that mac mini that I could use simply to route the USB connection to the iMac that will be playing the game. But first I'll try out the wifi setup.

The iMac has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M with 1GB VRAM. I have already tested TGC on it.Originally posted by guaava23 View Post

I'm running a PC with a GeForce GTX 660 Card (with 2 GB VRAM) and it runs great - I believe I'm on some of the highest detail settings too, and I notice no delays or slowdowns in video at all. I had to go with this smaller/older video card because it was all that would fit in my Dell unit I purchased about 1 year ago. Dell can recommend using that card as the highest level graphics card it can handle.

I turned both the tree settings and the water down low, the rest are the defaults. I have played multiple rounds via the mouse on it and noticed no choppiness in the game play.Originally posted by goatbarn View PostOh boy, must be at real low settings then. But you tested it, so must run "ok".

It all depends on how important crystal clear HD graphics are to you. To me they are a "nice to have". The game play itself is #1 to me. With the settings I use it still blows away anything else I have seen. I use it to play golf, and it plays well. If I want to look at beautiful trees, I'll go into my back yard.Originally posted by guaava23 View PostGood to know. I would have thought you need at least a 970 with 3 gB vRAM

My projector isnt that fancy yet anyways, I wanted 4:3 ratio and founf a great deall on a 1024x768 benq short throw with a new bulb, under 100$ so better graphics wouldnt matter at this point anyways. Good to know I can wait to upgrade my computer til the fall when I get a better projector. Now to decide if I even want to buy a sim til the fall.

Yes please. I love how they not once even commented officially on a date. Shows how they've been burnt many times on giving out dates 'unofficially', I just can't wrap my head around this time how they wouldn't know if they are that close.
IN ANY CASE, please just release and let's start playing -- and I'm sure an hour after it's released a complaint thread will be created about something that someone thought was suppose to work, in some way, but was never really said for certain would be the case and now they are going to burn all the related vendors to the ground. I however will -not- be a part of that thread.

For me it looks like they are waiting for the 2.2 release first. Maybe it has some firmware update too. Just a wild guess.

Hahahaha I thought I will try my luck with the skygolf online chat again to find out if they will drop something about the TGC release .......... I know that was pretty silly of me....... but as expected all I got was near future and no date yet .

Well they are on the butt end of this week now. I have mostly lost hope for this week, which considering the information given late last week is extremely disappointing. They are lucky at this point they are the only LM at this price point, if there were more options this **** doesn't fly. It will however be remembered.

You might as well find the nearest wall and ask it. In my experience, SkyGolf's customer service is only really good for one thing: finding polite ways to tell customers to pound sand.Originally posted by Sascha1818 View PostHahahaha I thought I will try my luck with the skygolf online chat again to find out if they will drop something about the TGC release .......... I will say this, it is fascinating to watch and try and understand how these guys operate... I've only been following this for a couple weeks, so cant imagine the frustration the long term owners must have... Thing I don't understand is that Seth was going to submit 2.2 update to Apple last week on Monday (maybe Tuesday... ) but had the flu... barring some type of hospitalization (and no one else able to do but him) its been 10 days since then and still nothing... not even an update... you'd think after the last message there would have been a reply / update that it had been submitted... Im starting to think it might have just been an excuse...

Yeah for the life of me I can't understand why SkyTrak_Seth (Seth) can't say something on any of this. Unless he has took a turn for the worse and was hospitalized. Even then, come 'on hospitals have wifi.

I sure hope that's not the case ! But if they still have problems with 2.2 he might be extremely busy. And I think it's up to skygolf now to call a release date and make it happen. I don't think it's in sportstrak or Protees hands anymore.
