Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

You can turn auto-rewind on and replay the tee shot repeatedly on a Par 3 but that's just a temporary compromise you can try until that feature is implemented. There are other here who are more in the know when it comes to features planned in the update that might can chime in. I know match play is on the list, along with universal weather/lighting settings for all courses on the sim server. There's more that I can't think of off the top of my head right now.Originally posted by JMoUnderPar View PostVV, thanks for the quick response.... I know that TGC says it's just a game simulator, but the ability to practice on a course and just play a par 3 over and over is part of the fun for me at least in having this equipment. Any other features to be added in this upcoming release?

If you have any of the auto putt or gimme features turned on, make sure to turn those off. If you're not using any of those, then it sounds like just some random bug that wouldn't be a recurring thing.Originally posted by JMoUnderPar View PostThanks... I just tried the auto rewind on 7 at PB and it kept taking me to the next tee box but would show hole 7 98 yards, when I would hit it, it would go down the 8th fairway.... Not sure if it was just me or if others have had trouble with Auto Rewind

I'm seeing something really weird with the Skytrak/TGC simulation when chipping. On almost all short chips (10 yd give or take) with a 52 or 60 deg club, the shot displays:
Backspin: 1000
Sidespin: 0
Spin Axis: 0
The trajectory and ball speed seem ok. They vary and generally look like the shot.
On any chip with these numbers, the ball rolls all the way across the green into the rough (at least at the Harbor course); it's like watching a slow hockey puck slide down the ice.
It seems really unlikely that anyone could hit shot after shot with exactly 1000 rpm backspin, 0,0, so I am wondering if the data being sent from the Skytrak to TGC is being read correctly, or if these are some kind of default values when it can't figure out what is going on. The way it behaves, it's like it's landing with 1000 rpm topspin.
Last week I did update the firmware on the unit and the Skytrak TGC interface. I don't remember this happening before the upgrade.
It also seems that the SkytrakTGC interface does not exit gracefully. When I close the game, and exit the interface, and then restart it several minutes later, I see this error message.
As seen below, there are 2 instances of the SkytrakTGC process running; this is what I see after trying to restart the software.
The way I have been solving it is by going into the task manager and killing the processes.
The app (SkytrakTGC interface) is 1.42.Last edited by druid68; 04-16-2016, 11:04 PM.

Continuation of last post-
From the Skytrak app and range, I hit about 10 shots with each wedge, the 52 and 60. Here's the data
the 60 data is here
I was pleased with how well the short chips were caught by the Skytrak. Only a couple of no-reads. But on all of the reads, there isn't a single shot that shows the usual TGC numbers
of 1000, 0,0.
There seems like there's a problem transferring data from the Skytrak, thru the SkytrakTGC interface, to the TCG game software.
Is this a known bug?
by the way, I am connected via USB cable.
Edit: I tried this again with TGC and Skytrak via WiFi. Same results- The TGC software does not appear to accurately display what the Skytrak sends it?

Played about 20 rounds since I got my ST and TGC Thursday. Love it. Only thing I don't love is the effect side spin has on the ball. Seeing same numbers between the ST Range and TGC but in TGC the ball slices 20-30 yards more than in the ST Range. Hope this is something that will be fixed! Then I can get my handicap down to what it is unreal life.

SkyTrak_Seth, you mentioned that you had not heard of this issue. Here is another example.

During play, does Skytrak have to remain connected via USB to the PC running TGC? Could they connect to each other via wifi after the initial setup has been completed?
In my setup, the PC with TGC installed (has wired gigabit) will be in an adjacent room. I would need to get a lengthy USB cable to connect the two together. Need help/advice please!

TGC works fine via Wifi. Actually works much better because the Skytrak doesn't suffer from "no reads" when connected via wifi.Originally posted by shivabirdi View PostDuring play, does Skytrak have to remain connected via USB to the PC running TGC? Thanks Vincent_Vega.
No physical connection required between the PC and Skytrak. That sounds perfect . Is there a particular setting in the setup that I need to select to enable a wifi connection?

Just connect it using network mode in the Skytrak range app. Connect to your wifi and you don't have to change anything after that.Originally posted by shivabirdi View PostThanks Guest.

Have a look at this thread. Read down a few posts where we all documented our results. So far, everyone that has switched to Wifi has alleviated the frequent no read issue. I'm now at 72 straight holes without a single shot failing to read. I was experiencing 4-5 per round. Safe to say there's enough evidence there. Not sure what Skygolf is doing to investigate.Originally posted by Tekbud View PostIs this a "known issue" that other people are reporting as well? I've always used usb connection. Does wifi work better for all?

If you hit 2 identical shots with a 3 wood, one from the tee and the other from the sand, will they go the same distance? or does the lie affect the shot?
Apologies if this has been asked/answered before... I don't have time to go through 79 pages!
